72 Delta 88 radio removal

How do I remove the stock radio to replace it with a new classic replacement.

the radio comes out with the trim pod it is in. there is screws around pod and there is a bracket on the back of radio. i hope this helps

Unless you have small hands and skinny arms you'll have trouble getting to the support bracket from beneath the dash. Aggravating as it is, you need to remove the lower dash assembly to get to that bracket. After that, remove the RH pod and the radio will come out from the front. Shop manual helps.

Great thing is aftermarket units are light and usually don't require putting the rear support bracket back.

Would you be willing to sell the original radio? If you're cutting off the plugs from the wiring harness, I'd be interested in buying those, too.
