Closest replacement fuel tank 61-64 olds 88
Hi everyone I'm new here although not new to Oldsmobile.
My 61 olds holiday 88 coupe needs a new fuel tank or one off another car that is close and can be made to fit.
From the research Ive done thay don't reproduce this tank. Any ideas would be appreciated the 61-64 Impala tank looks close but doesn't have the indent for the axle. Sending unit is different also.
My original tank is a complete mess its rusty and the previous owner tried sealing it with those epoxy kits that is flaking off on the inside.
thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply the only tank that is somewhat similar is a 61-64 Impala but I don't think this will clear the differential. Aftermarket not sure only a fuel cell but don't want to install inside the trunk.
Just hoping some other Olds owners have adapted something that looks somewhat factory.

These guys don't have one listed but I would give them a call. They are good folks and might give you some idea.

There is a guy right here parting out a 63 SF. Will that tank work?

Hi thanks for the replies living in Australia doesn't help, but I can get a tank shipped here.
I really want to get something new not used another option is to cut mine in half clean out the flaking sealer and rust and and then weld it back together and reseal it but this is a lot of work. Also the tank has baffles welded on the inside which is another issue.
I will email Tanks see if they know of something similar to my Olds tank. Thanks

I will contact Tanks see if they can recommend something.
Another option I have is cut my tank in half clean up the flaking sealer and rust and then weld it back together. Another problem with this is the tank has baffles welded on the inside.
Life is so much easier for our Chevy friends.

I would search for a car that is being parted out. Should be a clean used tank somewhere? (rust would be my concern) If all options are exhausted, using your old tank as a guide, thinking a tank could be fabricated. A custom made tank would not be cheap.
