Neutral Safety Switch 74 Delta

I believe the neutral safety switch on my 74 Delta 88 has gone bad. I moved and can't find my repair manual. How do you go about changing this out? Do you have to pull the steering wheel? Thanks in advance for any help you can shed on this for me.

It's on top of the base of the column.

Yes, you get down under the dash, almost at the firewall, and the NSS is right on top of the column, held on by a screw on each end.

You just remove the old one and install the new one, then you may need to move the new one a bit one way or the other in its slotted screw holes to adjust it.

Check the plug and contacts that connect to the switch, though - it may just be a bit dirty or loose.

Thanks Eric! Just ordered it from NAPA, picking it up in the a.m. The cool thing with the NAPA closest to my house is it is also the warehouse so I never have to wait for them to ship something out.

... Which demonstrates the value of troubleshooting before buying parts.

At least the NSS wasn't expensive (I hope).

Glad you got it fixed!

X2, troubleshooting through the parts store becomes expensive. A meter, test light, and some jumper wires come in handy.
