Clutch and Flywheel Recommendations
Hello all,
I am looking for a clutch and flywheel for my 71 W30. I have been reading some about these here and saw that it is recommended to buy a diaphram style pressure plate. Are there any brands that are better than others? Also, any recommendations on a flywheel. I have the original off the engine and I have a couple older flywheels as well, but they have a few cracks where the clutch rides so I wanted to replace it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I recommend a steel flywheel that can't break up and take off your feet. Most of them are 30 lb. like the stock wheel but not scalloped in the back (engine side) so overall are thinner. That means you probably will need a longer ball stud for the fork. Don't try much drag racing with a street clutch these days. Strips are "prepped" to minimize tire slip so you could burn the clutch or get parts damaging wheel hop. Drag racers use high coefficient of friction sintered iron faced disks with light pressure plates.

Obviously the answer depends on how you plan to use the car. For street use, I've been happy with a stock flywheel and Centerforce clutch. For track use with good tires and a sticky surface, I'd take Joe's advice on upgrades for safety.

Thanks all! Sorry for not including that information. The car will be used for street use and I was looking for the best manufacturer and clutch. I may take it to the track to test, but nothing on going or regular. When we rebuilt the automatic in my black car I opted for Redline Clutches instead of the standard. So I upgraded the clutches. Wanting to do the same with with 4 speed in this car.

It comes with throw out bearing and bolts . I had my flywheel ground and new ARP bolts. Got the wrong pilot bushing but that was on me
