Rear gear and type ?

Rear gear and type ?

I am guess Pontiac rear end
can’t seem to find anything on the number found on ring gear and pinion any help would be great
1357560 10gmc ring gear numbers
pinion gear B-10-43
I did count the ring counted 43 but I didn’t double check before sealing cover, I can’tseem TO find anything on these numbers

Looks like a bop 8.2 10 bolt with 4.30 gears.

I can’t seem to find anything on line about 4:30 gears
I need to order parts I am sure it won’t matter but want to make sure I order correct

What parts are you planning on ordering?I ask because I see a spacer plate between your ring gear and the differential.A ring gear spacer is never a good idea,especially if you have some power under the hood.If the rear is a 8.2" & does look to be that, then that differential is for 2;93-3;23 ratio.The diff. looks to be an Eaton or one of the copies that are out there.

I need to adjust the pinion so I am replacing pinion bearing and. Shim kit no real power right now and just a stick rebuild in its future 400/455 with a 4 speed is the plan

Justin, I hadn't seen these pictures yet. I agree that it looks like you've got a spacer under the ring gear. But it looks like there may be damage to the teeth on the ring gear. You may need someone who knows more than us about rear ends give you their opinion on using that ring gear. John

yes I agree, the pinion is riding on the putter edge it needs to move to sit better
it was set up wrong.
It drive nice just howls on declaration
