Help needed decoding a rear end
Looking at a rear end for sale. Numbers read to me over the phone are:
41A12 GM CZ 261
12A41 GM AZ 1235009 222
Inner axle housing:
197.196.296
4
So 41A12 calculates as a 3:42. It came out of a 71 442. My guess is a ten bolt 8.5 corporate. Pics (which I cant transfer) appear to show no spring or cone so no limited slip. No tag and no axle tube numbers available.
Can anyone tell me what the above numbers show ? And is this a good rear end for a 69 Cutty 350 4 bbl stock w/TH350.
Thanks

If a 3.42 gear set by the numbers and they did make open rear with that ratio. What year car did it come out of? If it has 10 bolts on the rear cover it's probably a corporate 8.5 rear. A great rear to build and relatively cheap too.
