1970 442 clutch pack question

I have a question about the clutch packs. The clutch packs have one clutch with what I call ears and the other has gear teeth on the ID. The one that has the gear teeth on the ID has reliefs cut on the OD that are 180 degrees apart. Is there a orientation or clocking of the relief on the OD when stacking them on the gear?

No.
Start with the tab then the splined hub do each side equally then the correct thickness shim which will be between .080 and .105 thousands

What do you use for the shims? I think one of mine could use some as it doesn't grab as well as it should with new clutches.

Parking brake parts impala caprice 11" bel aire gm ss biscyane 58 59 60 61 62 63

Any hardened shim / thrust washer will work...But we have shims in stock to add to your stock pack if you need
We also have the complete clutch packs with shims.

Sometimes you can use open non posi thrust washer to shim the clutches...BUT you may not need .040 usually we only need to add .010 to .020 shim

Jim
You can PM for prices and such.
