Best you send a picture of the rear cover... BUT likely it is a 10 bolt 8.5 as all the 1973-1977 a-body that was the normal rear they did have a 10 bolt cover rear with 8.75 ring and 12 bolt ring gear in some HD models.

Sorry thought I uploaded this, it has that grove like the first picture, so does that mean it’s a 10 bolt 8.5?

10 bolt 8.5 ID

Yes it is a 8.5 - Not really the cover I am looking at... You can put a CHEVY cover onto an 8.5 ...it fits perfectly.
You have the 1st pictures cover on the second pictures housings...BUT still it is a 8.5 no matter which way you slice it.
Look at the 5 and 7 o'clock area of th e casting. The cat ears hanging out the bottom... Then the brake like will have a cast in boss with a tapped hole for the brake line to be bolted to the casting top between the upper control arm boss mounts.
Yoke will have a 1 1/4 diameter bolt holding the yoke on. the yoke will have 4 bolts and 2 steel arched straps holding the u-joint in and the u-joint cups will be 1 1/8". 10 bolt cover and 10 bolt ring . ALL A-body 8.5 will have these things...
