Hood fitment issue

I am trying to adjust the hood on the ole 72. It looks as if there are three possible adjustment. Vertical by adjusting the hinges to the fender. Forward and back by adjusting the hinge at the hood. And side to side by adjusting either the space between the hinge and the fender or moving the fender itself. Anyone done this before?

I have and you have the method correct. As far side to side you want to adjust the fender to the body not the hinge to the fender. Good luck

Shims also provide adjustment between the hood and hinges.

Have done it more than once. Not that hard, but can take a lot of time. Also works best with two guys.

Thanks people. Just got back from laying someone in the ground. I better not go anytime soon or all my projects won't be finished. Tomorrow the hood .
