Cutlass Frame Questions
Hi All,
I'm new to this forum and I have a question about my '69 Hurst/Olds. What year frames will be a direct replacement? I've read '67 to '72 A-body frames will work, but should I really just search for a '69 Cutlass? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

All 1968-1972 A-body 2dr HT or sport coupe (post car) frames will interchange. That means Chevelle, LeMans, and Skylark in addition to Cutlass. The 69-72 Grand Prix and 70-72 Monte Carlo are also A-body cars but these two use a unique frame with a different wheelbase. The 64-67 cars use a slightly narrower frame with a longer wheelbase (115" vs. 112").

Thanks for the reply. Excuse me if my questions seem ignorant, but I am new to this. Doesn't small/big block make a difference? Would there be small differences between the models such as mounting holes or tabs or something like that?
Thanks

They'll interchange, however, I'm fairly sure the '68 frame is a one-year only frame. Think it's different for '69. It fits, but they're different. At least this is what I was told when I discovered mine was full of holes and cracked.
The frame for BB/SM doesn't matter. However, Olds used different engine mounts for BB or SB.
