Switching Grilles on Mid-80's Cutlass???

Looking at buying mid-80's G-body and DO NOT like the smaller "European grilles" at all. Can you switch out the European grilles for "regular" grilles?

Welcome to the site... First, the Euro front end was only for 87/88... 81 thru 86 had the same front end setup... To change from 87/88 to 81/86 style front end you will need to change the complete header panel and wire harness... If you are currently only looking, stay with 86 and older and save yourself the time and money to locate and install a different style front end on an 87/88...

I think he was looking to swap out a CUTLASS 87/88 2 door header panel and grille/bumper cover with an 81-86 2-door header panel and grille/bumper cover. As said, the headlight harness will need changing out too.

And I totally agree about finding an 86 or earlier car if you don't like the euro nose. The 86 is virtually the same as an 87 except for the euro nose on the 87. Actually, they were going to debut the euro nose on 1986 Cutlass, along with the Monte Carlo SS style wedge mirrors. Didn't happen though. Although the 86 brochure was released with the older front end air brushed over the euro nose on the front of the Salon/442. But they forgot about the mirrors and still shows the wedge mirrors.
