Column to floor shifter Conversion
Hello i am going to switch from a column shifter to a floor shifter at the same time I switch out the jetaway for a TH350. I just want to make sure I have everything that I need to make the switch from column to floor.
1. Center console (mini)
2. Shifter I have a dual gate (69 GTO)
3. Neutral safety/back up switch
4. Bracket to mount shift and console
5. Shifter cable
That is what I have now am I forgetting something? I read somewhere and it said a wire hardness? Do I need this or can I just use the wires I have now?
Thanks
pj

you forgot TH350 transmission, LOL.
in all seriouslness, make sure you get correct sized shaft on the tranny so you can use your factory driveshaft. i believe you need a short shaft....
oh, and i mounted a tac where the column shifter use to be, it worked perfectly, check it out:

Just grind off the nub from the shifter, finish it, paint, and mount the tach where you can see it locking the coller in park. Also add a floor shift speedometer and done. Otherwise, find a floor shift column.
