Suspension advice. 71 supreme
Good morning CO
I had Lorayne out earlier this week for her maiden voyage and was reminded about my desire to freshen up and tighten the front end. So, I'd like your advice on kits. I've also read that changing the steering box is a great way to tighten it up as well. She feels like shes driving on marshmellows I'm leaning toward this kit, as it's been recommended several times:
http://www.p-s-t.com/s.nl/it.A/id.92/.f?sc=12
And adding front and rear sway bars, springs and shocks to lower her about 1.5 - 2 inches in the front and 1-1.5 in the rear.
Being the tech savvy shopper I went and looked around a bit and found these kits and would like your take on them:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/USA-FRONT-EN...#ht_3242wt_958
And
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-1972-OL...#ht_1450wt_823
Mostly I'd like to know what the differences are and if anyone has had experience with them.
Also, any advice on springs and shocks for lowering would be fantastic. I'm leaning toward a set of adjustable coil overs so I can adjust as I see fit.

I don't have any experience with the kits but I will opine to stay away from KYB shocks. I have them in my car and they are too stiff IMO. They don't seem to be linear at all.
I also changed the steering box to a quicker ratio. the one I have is from the Parts Place & is a rebuilt stock unit that goes in just like the original. Dollar for Dollar this is the best $$ I spent on the car. It makes a night & day difference in the drivablilty. Its not overly quick but took all the slop out of the on center feel and provides mucher better feedback.

For anyone following this thread. Buy the gear box! I bought from PST and aside from a minor shipping delay it was perfect and really does make a world of difference. Like driving a totally new car.

Let us know the results when you're finished. I've done a lot of suspension mods on my Cutlass but haven't had it out on the road yet. As far as the steering box goes, everyone says the same thing...when you go with a new quick ratio box, 'it's like driving a different car.' I bought the Lee Perfomance steering box.

Where do you find this AGR steering box for a 1972 Supreme? I'm also not a fan of the boat-like driving experience, and I found this thread just now!

If anyone could post links to some good Oldsmobile resources in my thread, it would be very helpful indeed! Of course, posting in THIS thread is OK if the OP agrees.
Also, you guys can show off your own Oldsmobiles in the same forum too! If you enjoy showing you car to other that just the Olds enthusiasts, it might be a good tip!
