Replacing Leaf Springs 60 Olds
The back end of my 60 Olds is hanging a little low and I'm looking into replacement leaf springs. The local shops don't carry them. I've checked on a couple of sites that are advertised in Hemmings and they don't carry either. Can anyone recommend a reputable suspension house that would carry them. Mine, by the way, is a convertible, and requires a different suspension from the sedans -- which is part of the problem.
Thanks,
Mark

Have you checked Fusicks, Kanter, and Rock Auto? If not then perhaps you can have the springs repaired. I know leaf springs can be reheated and annealed again. The problem is finding a shop that still does this.

Find a local spring shop and have them re-arched and save yourself a ton of money. You can usually find them under truck parts/repairs in the yellow pages or do an on line search in your area. There still around Heavy truck owners use then a lot

Leaf Springs 60 Olds
Thanks for the suggestions. I did not realize that springs could be repaired/revitalized and used again. I will definitely inquire. One guy that I talked to said there was a way to boost the height on the car by adding something above the leafs (the equivalent of a spacer on coil springs) but he said most flatten back out again in six months.
