Ball joint dust cover replacement options
Rebuilding front suspension on my 67 Delta and the upper ball joints are in great shape (been replaced at some point) but id like to replace the dust covers. Any quality replacements avail . Mine have the integrated plate attached rather than the standard covers ive seen online that come with not so great reviews.

Where? Correct upper ball joints for the 65-70 full size cars are nearly impossible to find. Craig at MobileParts set me up with some old stock replacements. Note that the ball joints and boots are different RH/LH due to the asymmetric bolt pattern on the upper ball joints. The Chinesium replacement ball joints available new today do not look like the originals, and have differnet boot designs that do not look like original.

He asked about boots only. I googled ball joint dust boots and there are quite a few versions:

I have the asymmetric mounted ball joints that joe states . At 160 a pc for replacement joints i would prefer a reliable replacement cover. The universal covers seem to carry mixed reviews which is why i was hoping somebody has experience with this. Theyre not a one size fits all scenario. Thx again for any input.

I know I have seen these numerous times on E-Bay, NOS.(every few weeks) There does not seem to be any at this time. Yours do not look all that bad, did you try to clean them up? Or set up a search with notification.

I did a bit more searching. With some measuring seems energy suspension sells a universal boot designated for mopars... i could clean up but i typically like to replace everything new for peace of mind. Extras are always nice too

It is your money. but all the boot does is seal out road slop. In the 70s I attended a GM school and the instructor said the best thing for the ball joint seals that would fill up like a balloon was to blow them out till they popped. Those type held in moisture, and when they did pop they were full of a nasty water/grease mix.

I also have a new Chinesium replacement ball joint for these cars and it is androgynous. The mounting flange has slots to fit on both sides instead of the dedicated bolt pattern. The rubber boot is unlike OEM and a little sketchy. Needless to say, it is not installed on the car.

I got an energy suspension kit for my 69 442. It cam with dust covers that look like this. Do any of you have these installed? If so, can you send a pic or 2? I just want to see how they go on because they are nothing like what is on there now.
Thanks,
bob
