73 sway bars and control arms
Hey Guys,
My second project with the 73 Cutlass. I did this while my swivel buckets are out getting re-covered.
The car was born with a small front sway bar and no rear sway bar. After doing the research on here and the 73-77 Olds Forum, I picked up a front sway bar from an 81 Firebird T/A that is 1 1/4 in diameter and the rear bar from a 96 Impala SS, 1 1/4 in diameter. I also picked up the NOS lower rear control arms from a mid 90's 91C police package caprice.
What a difference in the way it drives!!! No more sway on the straights and very little leaning in the corners. Can't wait to upgrade the wheels and tires next year!!

You did your homework to find that info I bet. Mine came with ralley suspension as part of the hurst package. I took a lot of cast iron out of the engine bay and she was sitting high in the front. So 2 sets of springs latter out came the cut off wheel and now she sits nice. I hope you enjoy your 73 and thank you for your service

Hey Retro,
The 91C LCA's also seemed like they were a stronger steel than the stock ones too.
Hey Durf,
It was a lot of research but that usually pays off. I am enjoying the car and you are welcome.
My seats are done so I will post in the proper section when I get them installed.
