GOAL-build a quick, torquy, nice ride, good handlng 1972 442

The title kind of says it all.

I have Bill (BTR Performance) building me a 500HP stroked 455. The trans is either going to be a TKO600 or an M22Z or (if it ever gets built), a Syracuse 5 speed. The rear is an Olds 8.5 and gears will depend on the trans. It will either be a 3.08 (with the M22z) or a 3.73 (with the 5 speed).

The "feel" of the project will be to look totally stock under the hood and exterior.

Now I really need to concentrate on the suspension. It is bone stock right now. I will be driving this car a lot on the highway 85%; about 2% on the track and the rest local.

Let's put the pocketbook asisde for now. What recommendations would you guys have for suspension mods to improve the ride, handling and "hook". When conflicting, my priorities are in that order. The ride is the most important to me. I will be runiing the stock 14" rims.

Any and all recommendations; stories; thoughts are welcome. Vendor suggestions are welcome. Parts must be manufactured in the USA.

Hey skryla, can I make a suggestion? Please use a bigger font. Us old guys can barely read this. I don't know if you did this in Word and copied and pasted it but it is really small.

I have Hotchkis springs, sways, lower rear control arms, Edelbrock uppers, Global West Gen II upper and lower front control arms and koni shocks. Car hasnt been on the road in a while but when it was she handled great and rode fine. My bench seat made things a bit bouncy at times and it wasnt all that supportive so didnt throw her around a whole lot but a night and day difference. I'm going to change the front springs (big block to small block) and rear sway (still going Hotchkis) but I wouldnt change anything else.
