Hi guys/gals, I have a 1959 Ninety Eight hardtop. Could not find anything here that relates exactly to what I want. I would like to go with air bagged suspension. Can someone tell me if this model come with air bags and if I can air bag it, what needs to be done? I'm happy if someone can shoot me a link to research. If anyone has feedback on keeping it as is (coils front/leaf at rear) I'm happy to listen.

I looked over at the HAMB even though they aren't all about this kind of thing. I did find a thread that had some concrete information about systems and there seem to be a few guys over there that know about doing this. I am not sure about stock system for your Olds but can check my reference tonight for you. Anyway here is the link to the HAMB thread.

You could also contact an airbag manufacturer like Fatman Fabrications. They usually offer top notch technical service. Perhaps they have a kit that will work for your application.

This will be a totally custom fabrication.

'58 and '59 had Air Suspension as an option...The air tanks mounted behind the rear tires and would rust out, besides a few other problems

Didn't know that. I assumed the OP was asking about installing a street rod aftermaket air bag suspension.

Nope, any info on custom/street rod or close to original would be appreciated. Cannot see any sign under the car that it was ever optioned with bags.

I think your right probably cause more dramas in the long run.

I have searched Australia for the white KYB shocks and I cannot source any here, where can you guys reccommend in the states for these? I found some at Jeggs but they replied stating they were for air bag suspension.

I was following a '58 Chebby with 'Level air' script on the rear panel below the trunk lip and above the bumper, right side...another member of the OCC has a '59 Ninety-eight with the air ride stuff removed...it's too hard to find parts...

I never knew they offered air suspensions in the late 50s. That is cool.
