Movie Marathon on today
Dirty Harry
"The Dead Pool"
1988

Jim Carrey starts us off Lipps, Inc'g to Welcome To The Jungle
Obligatory car chase thru the streets of SF, CA shows a mid-80's Oldsmobile driven by DH Callahan, chased by the evil killer and his '63 Vette Bomb-mobile RC car, getting some big air over the hilly SF streets.
Pretty good RC car action also.
Maybe someday I will catch a cameo of my car on the streets in a movie filmed in NorCal.

(off memory)A Chips episode where some guys in a '63 88 get on the freeway and if I remember, the throttle gets stuck and they go on a crash spree. A Ron Howard movie where he is in a Rolls I think and gets involved in a demo derby with many Olds in it, clearly remember a '65 Cutlass in it.

I watched most of The Sugerland Express on Christmas Eve; a '66 442 gets shot up in the used car lot shootout (a '66 Chevelle SS gets torched in the same scene). Another old flick, The Honkers has a brief shot of a '68 442 convertible with the fender stripe in the background when James Coburn is walking around downtown Carlsbad, NM.

I'm glad you mentioned that movie. The whole time we were watching it in the theater, I kept seeing all these great old cars asking myself "where is a Ninety Eight?" I actually yelled out loud when I finally saw a really nice one...front and center in a quick scene, a silver sedan.

Oh man, don't remind me. I was so psyched seeing the preview to that movie when I saw the Royale. I should have known they would have trashed it. It looked like such a nice car too. I wonder what happened to it after the movie?!??!!

A friend of another friend had his '75 98 Regency in The Slums of Beverly Hills. I think I've even seen that car in another film.
I attached a couple of pics of my friend's '76 with Mary Tyler Moore at the wheel.

A movie called "Crash Course" from 87 or 88 maybe, starred Jackee Harry as a driving instructor there was a pair of Cutlass Cieras as the drivers ed cars. One gets flipped over on its roof and the students have to fix it before the instructor finds out.
Also during a scene where one of the students does something wrong in an intersection a G-body Cutlass Supreme and a front drive Delta 88 spin out and barely touch in the middle of the intersection.
One of the students' mom drives an 80-something Custom Cruiser.

The movie Kingpin with Woody Harelson. In the start of the movie he is driving a new 70 cutlass convertible. Later in the movie when its suppose to be 17 years later it is all beat up and it is a 72 cutlass convertible. Kind of funny. I would have never noticed that until I got my cutlass.

I think in the one season only 1964-'65 sitcom "Wendy and Me" with George Burns and Connie Stevens, the cars are furnished by Oldsmobile. In one of the worst films ever made, "Manos-The Hands of Fate" there is a white '64 Olds convertible with a big dent in the driver side rear fender. Shows up at the end of the movie.

I watched that new show "The Americans" that I mentioned earlier. It blatently focuses on Oldsmobiles in it. I wonder if the director is an Olds guy or is it simply that they were popular during the time the show is set in.

"the americans"
The new series on fx called "the Americans" has a 78' delta 88 sedan throughout the show and they talked about it several times. The show is set in the early eighties before USSR went belly up. The main characters are KGB agents living in the US undercover, and the husband drives an81' z28 thats sweet, I used to have one before I bought my 70' 442.

442 Convertible in At Close Range with Sean Penn and Christopher Walken. Madonna songs classic 80's movie. Good flick.

81 or 82 cutlass in Halloween III (gets wrecked)
83 H/O in Sudden Impact (owner gets shot in the garage thus leaving it to his movie-made "estate" I guess)
A couple of iterations of the 71 Cutlass convertible in King Pin.
And in 1986's Brotherhood of Justice.... *sob*
and another movie, thinking it's foreign-made...
