Fun Video grabbing Gears

'Ol Tob isn't used to the deceleration thing. He does just fine with the acceleration though. He is a wonderful dog. Smarter than most people I know. I take him to shows with no leash and he's completely cool. If he can't come with when the Olds comes out he is visibly bummed.

Very cool. You are right--that car is clean as a whistle. Although the drivetrain is WAAAAAY different than when I owned that car, the rest of it looks the same. Where is the 350 and auto.? Unless something happened to them, they both were in great shape. GOOD JOB!!!

The 350 is mooring a Mastercraft in Indiana and the Turbo 350 is well, I forget. Yeah, the drivetrain IS a bit different now. i honestly couldn't give the 350 shorty away. It's still in my buddie's garage. Thanks for the props, I really enjoy driving that car.

I texted my builder for the cam specs three days ago. I will try again tomorrow. It is one of two we had picked. I think he went with the bigger of them. Yeah, it lopes no doubt. You can get away with a lot with a clutch. Know what I mean? The motor has a mixed bag of cast rods with forged pistons and two bolt mains with a cast crank. The compression is as close to 10.25 to 1 as it can get. It has Edelbrock heads straight from the box. Air gap intake. Holley 780 DP. Hooker headers, MSD 6AL with a 5200 rpm pill, centerforce clutch, M20, A VERY well built 12 bolt with 3.73 gears. The rear end builder told me if I sell the car to not sell the rear with it. He said it is indestructible. I've heard that before, right before the BOOM!
I had an oiling issue occur after I ran the car on the dyno. I'm going to post it in a thread. It's important to run quality oil and filters. Although you probably know that already! LOL! When I get the cam specs exactly I will post them. Did you see my dyno sheet? I would like your comments on the power the motor is making. I'm not sure if wasting big money on an 850 is worth the 10 hp. The reason for the squiggly lines is that the tires were grabbing and slipping repeatedly.

Z, I like it! I think it is a great torquey sum bitch! Definitely a nice cruiser. I was thinking that you're probably making anywhere from 386 hp / 510 tq (10% loss) to 409 hp / 540 tq (15% loss). Either way, it sure does like to break the tires loose
I notice the power is made down low, perfect for a street car. If you were racing it you may want it to max HP a little higher but I don't see any reason to change what you've got. It's obviously a joy to drive

Very nice, I have watched that video easily a dozen times lol I have a 4 speed as well but with very mild 3.08,s I also had a 455 built for her may I ask what clutch set up your using? My car ran good with a 350 hoping the 455 widens the smile

It's a centerforce unit. Not much really to add here. When the motor was out I put in a new clutch just to make sure it was good even though the old one was probably still ok. Seems to grab good enough! I've watched that video a lot too, believe me. I love it. I just don't like to see 'Ol Tobin getting battered around. He isn't used to the decelleration. He does just fine when I rip through the gears though!
I have a video on you tube that is half small block half big block. I think I posted it on here too. You can get a feel of what your going to get with the switch. It is literally like night and day!
I found it. The small block is in the day, bb is in the night segment.
