Good morning everyone. For three more minutes.

Rain here, too. Gonna be inside stuff today. Spent another 3 hours at Awful house this morning. Everyone was there and in no hurry. Of course not, what are you going to do when it's raining.

Like Jamesbo said, excellent day yesterday with wonderful company. Tiger did okay in his room all day, but he was sure glad when I got home.

A guy I know said he was going to call and come look at the Airstream today. This is about the 5th time he's said he was going to, so I'm guessing he isn't very interested. But he bugged me for a long time about selling it before I agreed. Hm who knows.

Okay gonna go do something. Not sure what. Inside, that's for sure. First night for Summit cruise in tonight, I'm guessing it won't happen.

Have a good Monday everyone. Clint don't say so much.

Hola, all... 'Twas nice to have the guys & gal over yesterday... Too bad about the little window-buster, but all's well that ends well (after a few hundred bucks, I'm sure!) Thanks for the compliment on the 'roni, Jamesbo. I owe it all to my Mom. And I think now that I tried my hand at her carrots w/garlic, Better Half will be insisting I fix 'em on a regular basis. I need to be more careful with my recipes.

Only thing we all neglected to do was take one simple picture to share with our other Olds buddies. Oh, well... next time.

Y'all have a great Monday, Olds friends.

Welp,

Big oak fell over the garden last night

1] Broken car rear window
2] Tree falls

Waiting for the 3rd shoe to fall

Decisions, decisions, cut tree/cut grass

I can remember the good ole days when someone would come get it for firewood.

Not anymore

Have a Great day Olds friends

We have the same up here for tree removal, just throw it all into the chipper because it's faster, and they can move onto the next job, no matter how much firewood potential that there is. Just watch that fine Oak get reduced to chips, what a shame.

And, on a totally different matter, I ordered a trial razor and blade set from "Harry's" to see if it worth it to dump the overpriced Gillette that I have been using for years, those damn replacement blades are getting too expensive.

Now ya tell me.

It's all sawed up into nice 20" chunks, all I gotta do now is go to the mountains, haul my wood splitter back down here. Get it running right. Split a couple cords of red oak, haul the wood back to the mountains [Cause I got plenty here and getting low up there] Good thing it's warming up, this could take a while

But, If ya cut your own fire wood, ya get warm twice

BTW,I heard when the razor company comes out with a new [and more expensive] razor blade, they change the settings on the sharpener. So the old blades won't be as sharp as the new ones The ole corporate greed ball

I also heard, if ya wash the new blades well and let them dry, they last alot longer

GTG The mower is calling me

Good evening/ night.

Ive been Super busy learning to drive my cold milling machine. Im almost there, i now handle the basic principles to drive and use it properly. Rest is more up to personal preferences and ways to grow with the machine to handle it. Stupid way to say it, but thats how it is. Even the principles to drive it is same for everyone, every single person has its personal ways to complete the same job.

Alot written here, few to comment:

1969w3155 - If i would live in US. i would come to pick your tree right away, lol. Cant believe free firewood doesnt interest anyone?

Jamesbo - I have wood-splitter machine, tho i dont use it. I prefer simple axe, no matter how harder it is with it - good exercise and way to spend time. I really enjoy my time splitting wood with axe.

Gonna try to stay up for long this starting night, since next night were working.
Trying to change sleeping-habitats a bit here.

Inline, it isn't that people don't want firewood, it's that the trim trimming & removal companies don't want to cut it up for firewood because it takes longer for them to do the job, they found that if they just throw it all in the chipper they can move onto the next job quicker and make more money along the way. If I were to have a tree cut down that had good firewood potential, then I could probably have it cut down then have them leave it mostly intact and sell or give the wood away to anyone who wanted it, but it would take longer to clean up my yard, and I would be stuck with the smaller branches that no one would want. So, I would have to chip, or bundle up for my city to pick up.

Hi everyone.

Rain has gone and it's been beautiful. A little windy this morning but that's gone, too.

Jamesbo I'm another one who enjoys chopping wood just for the heck of it. Sure I'd get more done with a wood splitter but since I don't have one, I am the wood splitter. You must have a big fireplace to take 20" pieces. I'm doing good to get 16" pieces in my stove.

It cleared up early enough for Summit to have the cruise in last night. About 30 cars. I think I spent more time inside buying oil than I did looking at cars. That's okay, it was a show and I was there.

Dan I had four trees taken down in my back yard a couple years ago, and I got a break on the price because I wanted them to leave it all. In fact they did a half-okay job of cutting it up into manageable pieces that I've taken too long to clean up. I have enough firewood for ten lifetimes. And Tiger loves crawling all over and under it and playing in it.

Not much else. Monday for me tonight. Have a good evening everyone.

Good day.

Awake now. To 8pm for work, which takes, who knows how long??
Been reading about my machine from brochures now, and learned a few new tricks noone havent told ( i quess they dont even know, since noone hasnt read the user manual, which they are currently chasing for me).

Jamesbo - Best of luck with axe Its really relaxing, i suggest trying. You can have my wood-splitter machine for cost of air-Freight, if you want to have two

Okay, have a good day everyone, im off to make dinner ( fiancee called and told me so )

Evening all,

Talking of trees, I just had six 100ft pines cut down from my building plot, I've also got permission for another 36 trees to go - and no I won't be chopping for fire wood. In there place I have to plant 21 trees.

Cold and rainy for the past couple of days, the wind changed direction and we've had a blast from the Arctic, brrr

At long last I finished the fake grass, looks good but then my dog decided to leave me a nice brown present right in the middle!

English national dish for dinner tonight - spicy curry.

Hi everyone.

Running late, on purpose. My foot hurt so bad this morning I told them I'd be late coming in tonight because I had to go see the doctor. I suppose I could have hurried and been on time but why break my back. I'll leave in a little while and it will only cost me a couple hours of personal time. So anyway saw the doctor, got a shot in the backside, and it's feeling better already. Why didn't I do this a week ago?

Jamesbo you didn't give it a chance. It takes a little while to get into the swing of it, as it were.

London I'm wondering, did the dog know he wasn't supposed to go on the new astroturf, or was it that convincing?

Now I'm bored. I figured I'd sandbag and hang out at home and have a good time, but I've looked at the whole internet and now am just waiting to go. So I guess I'll get ready and go.

Have a good evening everyone.

Evening,

Thanks for the compliments everyone, it makes the hard work worth it.

Bangers and mash is good but you can't beat a good curry freshly made in Londonistan.

Mike, I think the dog was giving the seal of approval but at least it's simple to get rid of his little presents!

Elsie has left the mountains, so it time to off load fire wood and onload log splitter and beat feet south

London, Check out Nealebrown in the Newbie section. I believe he's from Birmingham and says he'd like to meet you

Mike, Did you ever figger out what caused it? I've heard everything from spinach to grits to shell fish. I know they don't have spinach or shell fish at the Aweful House and I know ya don't care for Gawga ice cream [grits]

Inline, I appreciate the offer but I hate to think what freight on a log splitter would be.

John, Ya going back again to Biltmore? Tell me one more time about the noodles. Did I heard you say they were # 7?

Clint, From the commercial I see on TV ya need 2 tubs a his and hers sitting on the beach. HTH ya get hot water piped in is beyond me but .............

Hola, all... Funky yesterday in da hills, but today looks promising. Today's clean-up and pick-up day for the long trek manana. 'Twas a splendiferous visit.

Mike, sorry to hear the ailment returned, but glad the shot helped.

Clint, better be careful you don't have a power outage and fall asleep in that tub or you'll wind up like Kramer. (I know at least Mike will get that one .)

Jamesbo, in looking at the package, it appears Luxury dropped the "#7" from the name. I'm guessing they used to have more than one kind of "long macaroni"; but it appears there's only one now. In any case, what I use is "Luxury Long Macaroni". I don't see it sold anywhere online (at least by Walmart or Amazon), but I can surely bring (or ship) you up a few packages if you'd like to dabble. This is what the old "#7" package used to look like.

Of course, like so many other quirky N.O. things, Luxury used to have some very memorable TV commercials when I was a pup; but I can't find any on Y.Tube. I know they used to have a decidedly Italian motif, and if you notice, the logo is shaped like a gondola (even though the roots of the company, according to their web site, are more decidedly Sicilian than Italian).

Whelpt, it's a few errands dis mernin', a walk at the dam, then housework & chores.

Y'all have a great fright-day, Olds friends.

Gonna be a messy 3-4 days, we are expected to get from 3-5" of rain, which is a lot in these parts. Cool temps to boot for the next week or so, bleh! I have to get a lawn service to cut my lots next to where I used to live, I went to put my walk behind in the trunk of the Saturn, and due to the small opening, it would only set in there at an angle, at which point the gas started to run out of the filler cap. Don't need that. We have two co-workers retiring, so a potluck at work today, I made a slow cooker of pulled pork BBQ. Have a good one.
