You're forgiven, Clint. ;-)

Not much time; gotta' go help B.H. with sumpin'.

Jamesbo, I followed the blue dress thing; but please either elaborate on the political story you found or send me a PM or something explaining... My train derailed somewhere.

Dan, I have to admit that on 6/6 pretty much every radio newscast I heard said sumpin' about D-Day. However, as an asterisk, N.O. is home to the D-Day Museum, so it's a bigger deal down here than in most places. Funny, 'cause when I was a kid, it seemed like all that stuff was an eternity ago. But from my perspective today, it wasn't that long before I was born at all.

LA heat has arrived.

Catch up later, Olds friends.

After scrolling through the trivial stuff last night, I found an article on it, and that in turn produced several more stories.

Jamesbo, I agree. It's totally absurd, but the only alternative would have been to simply admit guilt and ask for forgiveness -- which are apparently against his religion.

Mike, Hagerty is advertising insurance for your military vehicles.

Evening all. Worked a full day today and had a tennis match tonight. Lost the match that lasted over 2+hours. Very disappointing. I feel like if I get another shot at playing him I could win. Oh well.

Jamesbo - I hear ya about what the younger voters know. It scares me, not to be political, that many people younger than me think Socialism isn't such a bad idea.

Dan - the only place I saw Normandy referenced was our local paper. It had a picture of a giant "Thank You" written into the field. The picture was taken by a helicopter. It actually was a nice spread. Also, our local News 12 station had footage of the actual invasion. Not sure why the major networks didn't talk about it.

Only talking about the Trump/Hillary show, the one that will get played out every day for the next 5 months. I can hardly wait. My phrase that I'm going to use whenever they're both on tv is "There goes those two idiots again."

Clint - 80k a year for rent?? Holy crap.

Inline - I agree that it would be more fitting to put some HP under the hood. Good luck with the build.

Have to get to bed, have another match tomorrow night. Have a good night all.

Amite cooler dis mawn'in

Speak'in of Normandy, I never really understood the hedgerows til I went there. Essentially they are the edges of fields where rocks, trees. brush have gown up over the years.

When you're driving around the very narrow roads ya come to an opening and there is a field completely surrounded by large growth. I'm not sue but I think it's so thick they don't have alot of fencing.

Today's history lesson. The Faulkand war began. I've heard the British troops are still P.O.d cause the couldn't bring home any sheep as war brides.

Have a GREAT day Olds friends

Mornin', all. Almost pleasant here right now: a weak cool front whipped thru overnight and it's only 70 w/ bearable humidity. But summer looms heavy.

Jamesbo, the only time I'd ever heard the term "hedgerow" before I paid attention to WWII was in "Stairway to Heaven."

Good luck with today's match, Darrell.

Sounds like you'll be busier than normal for a while, Inline... maybe the sauna will be idle a few nights.

Happity humpity, Olds friends.

The hedgerows are natural fences. In the US we have actual fencerows, which farmers will burn or clear.

I'm singing "Poison Ivy" to myself. Have it worse now than in years. I mowed and weedwhacked last Tuesday, got some, but then I helped out a shoot on Saturday in the rain, and I'm not sure how I got more. Plus, the neighbor's cat rubbed on my leg; nice little furball, and she must be covered in it because that's now the worst part.

I like this cat, ivy notwithstanding, because she gets fed elsewhere, but is friendly, looks for mice, and comes over to my place to get away from the 2 dogs and 3 boys under 10 over there, which I can't fault her for.

Good morning everyone.

This must be some kind of new record. Awful house and Walmart, and home by 10. Beautiful day out here as well. And no rain in sight.

John I need to go to the WWII museum down that way some time. I hear they have a DUKW and a PT boat. Heck I might even learn something.

And this from the, there really are dumb questions, department. How the heck do you change out the flex line for the brakes in the back by the axle? The flex line goes through a bracket, and the fitting sits in a recessed area, where you can get a wrench on but can't move it. I thought about pulling the clip and pulling the hose out of the bracket, but of course the hard line going in doesn't have slack so it won't move. I can't not change this line, because it's the same age as the car and I've changed the others, so I'm not leaving this one. Lying on my back working upside down doesn't help, either.

Clint good luck with the insurance. Good thing you're required to have it. What else do you have to do with your time?

Darrell, why is zero in tennis called "Love?" So it sounds more friendly? What do they say when there's no score, love-love? Or love-all?

Think I'll do some yardwork today. The dogs aren't much help, they will just lay down in the dirt and go to sleep. It will do them good to have some fresh air. Okay have a good day everyone.

Mike, you need to plan to come on down and spend a couple days here and visit the Museum. The last time I went was with my Dad well before Katrina; there have been not only new displays, but new WINGS since I went. Better Half has never been, but I think she might be open... her Dad landed at Omaha on D-Day and actually has a couple bricks with his name at the Museum. But it's a little emotional for her.

Koda, a guy who likes cats (the nonfeeding type notwithstanding) can't be all bad. Here's a typical evening for Better Half & her lap.

Mike, do an online search to find a video on how to make that brake repair. Enter the main info, like "1984 Cadillac rear brake line replace". Or ask Clint!

Less than a month this time! Work has been keeping me busy but that project is mostly over now so back to normal.

Picked up the Cutlass from the transmission shop yesterday. The th350 is a 3-speed again. But got a brake warning light right near home.

Have a good rest of the week everyone.

Evening everyone. Just got home a half hour ago from my tennis match. Lost a heartbreaker in a super tiebreak. That means we each one a set and then played out a tiebreak to decide the match. Oh well, one I should have won.

Mike - not sure why they call 0 "Love"? Never really thought about it. It's a good question. I've got a lot of yardwork to do too. Between tennis and rain, I haven't had any time the last two days.

Clint - you're not the only one that keeps getting their insurance changed. Many doctors I call on are dropping plans due to poor reimbursement. Even my kids pediatricians just dropped every exchange program they had. Next time they decide to fix insurance coverage, they should include the people who actually treat the patients.

Going to head to bed, have a good night all.

Good morning everyone.

Like Jamesbo says, cool this morning with heat and lots of it later on. Let the dogs out at 630 this morning and it was below 60.

John I'm going to check into that insurance. I'm guessing it's pretty cheep. Although my State Farm isn't too bad, either. I called Haggarty years ago about my Corvette, they said oh you had a speeding ticket 5 years ago? We don't want anything to do with you. Maybe they will have lightened up a little by now.

Paul it's always something.

Clint, any ideas with my brake hose? If not, I think I will just take the body off the frame and get to it from the top, I'm guessing like during manufacture.

Okay Awful house. It's the penultimate day of the work week, for most of you. Have a good day everyone.

Mornin all.

Mike I'm having a hard time picturing what you are talking about. I do know that some of them you have to get kind of rough with to pull them through the bracket to access them. Here its not usually an issue but in the rust belt it could get kind of sketchy.

Jamesbo, I'll be happy to talk to him. thanks for the referral.

Darrell, Thats what I'm afraid of. My wife finally (after 15 years) found a Doc she likes and I have to call his office before pulling the trigger on a new plan to make sure he accepts that company. We used to be able to get in and see him with about a weeks notice, now its 2-3 weeks to get an appointment. He said he had to let nurses and lab techs go and hire on more people to push the papers around.

Dan, I love that article. I'd love to have an AA tow truck to use as a prop at the shop.

Have a day all

Hi everyone.

Got back to bed and slept until 230. Took the blue van to the gas station to fill up, which even at a paltry 2.04 cost me 60 bucks. Got ready for work and ready for my Monday.

Clint I'm not sure if all cars are like this, but the flex hose that feeds the brake lines going over the axle is attached to a crossmember of sorts. The fitting is at an angle which puts it in a recess, thus mostly impossible to access. My neighbor suggested a line wrench crows foot. Didn't know there was such a thing. I'll probably have to ask at the tool truck next week.

Looks like I'll have to learn what Poison Oak and Poison Sumac looks like. I was pulling weeds and vines off the gate and fence at the shop yesterday. I didn't see any Poison Ivy but woke up today with it all over my arms. I might need to bring some cow-birthing gloves home from work so when I work in the yard I can cover my whole arm. Or wear long sleeves, whichever. Seems I'm not that bright since I do this all the time.

Time to start my work week. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Evenings from summer cottage. Off from sauna, were here with my wifeys parents. Good times with them. Let my wifeys dad drive my cutlass, now his considering swapping hes Volvo 142 to American car. Converted succesfully Even theyre a bit lousy, its the V8 that hooks people up. IMO american mantra " nothing beats cubic inches" was also their curse, when europeans and japanese drove past them from left and right with hp/litre. Its just the sound for me. Nothing amazing engineering wise.

Hi everyone.

Beautiful and hot. Love it. If it would be like this every day of the year I'd be happy.

Clint I'll have to check out the tool truck next week. I've never seen crows feet for sale in a store. Maybe I haven't looked too close. I could go ask but I'm afraid I'd get the same look I got when I asked for clutch head bits or cleco pliers.

Jamesbo there were no leaves of 3. It was all grown together like a thicket or briar patch. In with the incognito poison ivy's were these big vines with thorns, no spikes on them. I bet spinning them would rival a chain saw.

I get the impression that I've just been called stupid.

Work last night was nice. Finished up around 3, but then started in on some CBTs. Finished them a few minutes after 6. Oh well. I get out early other days, it all works out. At least now I don't have to worry about training for awhile.

Okay night 2 is upon us. Have a good weekend everyone.

At home. Steaks at grill, and then to heat sauna. Thats life. Next time at home on thursday.

Not bad. My first "long" continuous weekend trip with Cutlass ended up to 15.5mpg, including highways, town and regular road driving. And i spend alot of time passing others, so not driving like grannies do. Couldnt be happier about that. Something sad also, got probably big stone hitting my rear quarter, and having big ding on it :/
Well, that happens, but still makes feel sad.

Hi everyone.

Yet another sunny day over 90. This is wonderful.

Jamesbo I know you didn't call me stupid. As for the cow birthing gloves. We have these heavy vinyl gloves that go all the way up to the shoulder, that we use when we have to work on the lavs. Most of our planes have a tank that sits under the lav and sometimes things other than what's intended get in there. This will cause the dump valve to get stuck open, causing a multitude of problems. So we have to go fishing around to find the obstruction and clear out the valve. Not a fun job but the gloves make it possible.

Nice pictures Dan. I'm feeling like I need a vintage pickup truck to tool around in.

Okay time to hit it. Hope everyone has a good week starting out.

Thanks Mike. Well, I'm glad that I can just get by on a Trac Phone, as I'm not a cell phone kind of guy, so that means when I forget to take it out of my cargo shorts, I'm not out more than a couple of bucks when it goes through the wash.
