I had Pac-man fever as well - big time.
When I was in the 5th and 6th grade, my rich friend had a table style arcade game of PM at home, so after school, that's what we would do.
He had a true Pacman fetish. He lived and breathed it in all regards. Below is a picture of a little arcade game model he made for me back then.
When we would hit the arcade, we would hog the games for hours.
Basic Pacman was getting boring, so Ms Pacman was our other favorite. Then came Baby PM, PM Jr. and some other variants. Donkey Kong finally gave us a different concept, aside from eating stuff.
Ahhh - Space Invaders! That was one my mom actually enjoyed played with us back when we were young on the high-tech 8-bit Atari 2600!
Basically, just shoot everything that moved! I liked blowing the shields away...
I remember Pong to an extent - my sis and I would ride our bikes to the local Sears and play for hours. We thought that was too boring after the Atari showed up. We finally convinced my mom to buy a set for us for Xmas. She got it at Kmart for $137. Each "game program" was $40, so each year for several years we would get a couple new ones.
After the other brands pushed the 2600 into obsolecence, we got a whole box of games for 5 bucks at a garage sale and I enjoyed them all the way to 1988 or so.
Believe it or not, I still have the system, games, boxes, and all. It still works and sometimes I even play it. Looks like if I sell it on evil bay I can almost get my money back for it all!
I like the simple games I can figure out on my own. The ones thse days are mostly too complex for me.
Richard - PM me regarding the Galaga game. If it is in pretty good shape and it works for the most part I would be interested. Take some measurements of it so I can see if I can squeeze it in the house somewhere...
I enjoyed Galaxian, and this I think was its successor.
I want a Pacman or Ms Pacman arcade game now!!!!
