Some of you may have noticed a new movie / drama that is coming to the big screen....when exactly i don't much care....but, was very surprised to find out that a 1968 delmont 88 was used as the murder weapon. was it a 2dr....4dr...and does anyone know what color it was ?
i'm gonna take a wild guess the conversation that arnold schwarzenegger use to have with his ex-wife maria as they drove to the compound on thanksgiving morning...." i hate that fat-*** teddy....bastard always eats all the mashed potatoes ---eats like a pig".
well, i can only hope he's having to tread water somewhere....for eternity.

it was a black 4dr sedan, blue interior,330.april 8th i believe. the trailer is interesting to me(i had 2 of my oldsmobiles working on set in newburyport,ma. also, another book on the subject came out in november of 2017,which was the original release date for the movie.

thanks guys....but, i could swear in the trailor the narrator says "68 delmont 88".
love the big cars of the late 60's & 70's, but frankly don't know them well enough to tell the difference of 67 to 68. my dzia dzia had a 68 delmont --dark blue / white painted roof....great car. (listen to me talking about my grandfather ---heck i'm 61 myself ) jc ---interesting-- how did the movie makers approach you to use your vehicles in the shoot ?

If it would have had the "Police Apprehender" package he might have made it across the wooden bridge.
A year to earlier, as I don't think the Apprehender package came out till 1968 with the 455.

Yea and maybe if he wasn't drunk too. Movie should have come out when he was still alive. Married man leaves his pregnant girlfriend in the car to drown while he cowers to daddy.

i don't know what the trailer says but it was definitely a 67,i've seen numerous pictures from after the "accident" as i was consulted by the author of the new book "chappaquidick speaks" in regards to dimensions of the rear footwells and marks on the bridge. i was contacted for the movie because i have my cars listed with boston casting database.used 2 cars in "american hustle" a couple years ago.it's interesting but not very profitable.they feed you well too.jc

saw this movie yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it but have to wonder if people outside of new england will or would be interested.this story never went away locally but i can't imagine the whole country following it. jason clark and ed helms were excellent.no shots of my 66 88 at all but a decent shot of my 65 cutlass convertible my wife was driving while following kennedy being driven to court.

That's cool Jimmy, congrats on getting your car and wife in the movie! When I first saw this post I said to my GF that I remember when it happened and the car was definitely not a 68. I knew it was an Olds, I remember seeing it on the news and in the papers, but like mentioned everything was black + white those days.

it's amazing how much of the filming doesn't make the movie,my 88 convertible was used extensively in multiple scenes and it's nowhere in the movie.this also happened in "american hustle", i used my 65 f85 in numerous scenes, one that was reshot 16 times, and it's not in the movie.my convertible got a decent but quick shot in that one .

No I think it's more like he let a pregnant woman drown while he ran away. The only thing this had to do with Old man Joe was him trying to cover it up.

For whatever reason, I always remember where I was when "unusual" events happen. JFK, I was in jr. H.S. RFK (1968) I was at Cleveland Hopkins airport. With "Teddy" it was probably around 5 PM on a Saturday I was in my 1963 Impala convertible (not an SS but 409 (lo-comp 340hp) 4-speed, bench seat, built in tach that red-lined @5000 rpms. I know, too much information but that's one car I wish I'd kept.) It came over the radio about him being in a car accident, young lady drowning and him being dazed and not reporting the accident right away. Even though I was a naive young guy I thought that story sounds strange. It was the topic of conversation at work and everybody that I heard seemed to think his story was "fishy".

this is correct.it's a travesty that he got away with a charge of leaving the scene of an accident, that's it.it's disgusting.he wasn't even arrested for driving without a license(expired).he and his old man were more concerned with his political career than the loss of life

i couldn't agree more.i don't know what prompted the making of the movie but the new book had a lot to do with a new witness(a cousin of the author) that finally came forward after all these years.there was a lot of pressure to suppress any and all information.

I heard on the radio today that Mary was alive for about 2 hours under water. Her body was crammed up into an air pocket in the car. So while Ted swam to shore & literally ran past several houses where he could have summoned help, he tucked his tail & ran home to sober up before reporting the incident about 10 hours later....

i do believe they concluded she suffocated because of the lack of water in her lungs that would be present if she drowned.the diver stated he could have had her out in twenty minutes if he had been called.
