You have to admit it is pretty cool and well done. It is fast too. I think I would call it rear engine though.

Different... I've seen similar projects like that using Toronado drive trains... I wouldn't want to be sitting inside with the engine running for any long period of time...

engine in front of rear axle = MID (Pantera, Ferrari, 442)
engine behind rear axle = REAR (Porsche, VW, Corvair, Smart, DeLorean, Tucker)

You beat me to it. I remember seeing that car in that issue in 78' and remember thinking "at least they gave some dignity to the worst looking 442 of the whole line." I am of the opinion that was the begining of desperate attempts to sell more cars by capitalizing on the 442 badge without any "real" package.

Apologies in advance for anyone who has one of these, without the mid engine of course.
