Interesting thing about Kingsford Charcoal if you did not know it is that it was started by Ford Motor Company. They used their scrap wood and made it into charcoal. It was owned by FoMoCo for many years. Old Henry was pretty wise.

Prefer lump myself. The briquettes I find have too many additives. The straight lump leaves less than a quarter of the ash.

Ain't quite the charcoal/wood season for me just yet, gas grill works all year.

Home depot 30 miles one way.

Keep my eyes open on a deal at Wallys' mart.

Best coal/ lump I've ever used is Royal Oak in a red bag. About $12 a bag. Lasts most of the day & has consistent heat. I try to stay away from "Cheepo Depot", myself.

I only go to home despot when they have the sale on the kingsford
usually memorial day 4JULY and Labor Day. This year they started selling charcoal for less than half price before Easter

Tried royal oak Spendy for me when I have trees that generate more wood than I can burn in my BBQ grills. I just use the kingsford to get the fire started.

Kingsford use to buy almond shells to make their briquettes out of. Thought that was strange beings we use to just burn them up or send them to the co generation plant for free just to get rid of them... Tedd

This reminds me of Crankshaft in the Sunday comics. Anybody else ever read it?
