Pro Helsinki-Malmi airport
Without being passionate defender of the case im going to bring on your knowledge, i still thought id like to write it here, to give an insight about the crazyness of our world.
To shorten the write, theres a link containing all the foreknowledge you need to know about Helsinki-Malmi airport. Its 1 of the 7 most endangered heritage sites of Europe:

Well, the officials at charge are still trying to crush it all down to make way for new residential area for 25'000 people. Even there are enormous amount of empty fields around our capital, where they could aswell build. Not even the election to be 1 of 7 endangered heritage sites slowed them down, they still are pushing it through. At our last change weve being collecting names to address, and when we get enough names under it, our parliament needs to give attention to it, and give their opinion.
At the same time were fightning against crushing of our historical heritage site, they have been on the other hand trying to push Guggenheim-"museum" to central spot of our capital. And likely no-one of us wants it to Finland. It has already once elected down; yet it was still brought back. And they even succeeded to reserve lot for it at central point of our capital. Still noone is wanting it there. Seems like some lobbers are trying to push it through with force.
Aint this weird? Same time were trying to destroy our cultural heritage, same people are wanting to build there something that nobody wants, which do not resemble our heritage, and we would have to pay enormour licence-fees for just the sake of having it there.
Just cant understand. Makes me mad just about to think this blasphemy
Feel free to comment freely even loosely around the topic.

We see it all the time here and it's despicable. Valuable public lands are sold to developers for well below market value (or 'land swapped' for low value land). If you follow the money, you find that the developer is a large $$ contributor to the elected officials that approve the sale. And later, those politicians become vice presidents or board members of the development company. We've also seen the politicians use the power of 'Eminent domain' to seize land from one private owner and force a cheap sale to another, more preferred, private owner.
The only thing I've seen that seems to help in the fight is to get the media involved and create a groundswell of support so large that it becomes politically inconvenient for the deal to proceed. In essence, you have to very publicly shame the politicians (or developers) into abandoning the project.
Good luck in your fight.

This link pretty much explains the current state of Tempelhof airport. Theyve had the same fight already- and managed to vote it down. It has pretty damn colourful history since it was completed.
Were currently only under 3000 names short of that address to proceed to our parliament. Then we need huge media-campaign to make sure anyone who even thinks to vote "no" for saving Helsinki-Malmi airport will be publicly shamed.
