Got pulled over by the RCMP last night

Went through a checkstop last night. I guess the cops were looking for DUI's. When I pulled up the cop checked my plate and then came to the driver side and started talking about hockey and what players he liked and asked my favorite team. We discussed salary's, some players that were floating and not earning their money etc. After about 2 minutes of this he asked if I lived in Sherwood Park, I said yes, I'm heading home. "Well you folks have a nice night" and that was my brush with the law. My wife said "He didn't even ask if you drank tonight?" I said that it didn't matter if I drank, just as long as I wasn't drunk. Guess he wanted to see if I slurred my speech.

Now if it had been summer and you were out in your 442, I doubt you'd be talking about players and salaries. I think you'd be sitting in the back of his cruiser while he and his partners took turns checking out that 455 BB.

Glad to hear that you weren't slurring your speech any more than when you're on the phone. Next time invite him over for a drink and see what happens.

I did ask my wife if I should do my Foster Brooks imitation. She just said "Don't you dare." Besides, I don't drink. Can stand the tast of beer and I've tasted it in 16 countries...it's all the same to me.

I don't think there's a whole lot of people who remember the famous Foster Brooks and Dean Martin Air line captain skit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8L-ZZSc8JU This is the best.

I'm plenty old enough. Foster Brooks was great, Dino was pretty good at pretending he was drunk too.

I always ask and nobody can ever tell me how the RCMP can catch and pull over a car while riding a horse. Do they have lights and sirens? Horse-cam?

Ok, I'll date myself.

We all know the dogs name, but what was his horse's name?

I remember that skit it was hilarious. Dean usually did not have to imitate being drunk but I think I heard or read somewhere that Foster Brooks did not drink , though he did the best imitation. It was a ritual in my house growing up to watch the Dean Martin show.

You're kidding right? Horses are just for show and pagentry. They have some of the finest pursuit vehicles in the world. In fact, just last week they chased me when I rolled through a stop sign. My buddy took the picture just before they pulled me over.

I was serious about the horses.
Do the horses have shaved heads like all the cops do now?

I saw this Canadian police pursuit and was very impressed by their skills.

You have cities with real buildings and stuff?

Weird coincidence how I posted my favorite car song yesterday and it involves British Columbia and Mounties.
I can't get it out of my head, been singing it for two days and people keep giving me weird looks.

In case you missed it.

But I forget the name of the movie that the song kills all of the Aliens when it's played.

that was actually a commercial for snow tires. I thought you should know that realisically speaking our criminals are much smarter than that.

Luckily, there was a stuck cop car just off screen that was there to cut them off. They surrendered as soon as the cops set the police polar bears on them.

I honest to the heavens have to listen to that at my 89 year old mother-in-laws house.
She loves Nelson Eddy and has me crank up the old Victorola and put on the original. Also has his best of album on 33-1/3, she's a riot.
That's also one of my dad 's favorite songs to sing after he's had a few, especially at two in the morning when fishing up in Canada, I'd freak out if an Indian maiden responded.
The ones where we stayed would give you something and it sure wasn't a response.
Is it the movie "Mars Attacks" that song is in?
The women are wearing their hair like the alien blondes for real now.

Police have winter vehicular skills that aren't shown in that video.
They're all experts at doing donuts in snowy parking lots.
I always see them at Dunkin' Donuts sitting in their cars drinking coffee and eating them.

There is no doubt that the RCMP's new trained polar bears are much more efficient in apprehending criminals. they are much more threatening that dogs and don't wimp out when the temp. is -40 , plus it may become more used by police forces across Canada as polar ice thaws and they find it harder to find food on their own.

I mean really, what is it with cops and donuts? I see it in Canada as well as in the US. Do the police forces own shares?
