I may have to play it tonight. I have it on CD, SACD 5.1, 8 track, Stereo LP and QS Quad LP. I may have it on cassette, too, I forget.
Although it is their most successful and widely acclaimed album, it is not my favorite, nor what I consider their best (which are The Wall, and Wish You Were Here, respectively.)

Wasn't everything fifty years ago?...
Out here in Denver there was an indoor laser light show to Pink Floyd (By the way which one is pink) I had good times watching that.

Best Concert I ever attended. First concert show at the UW Madison Camp Randal. Folks were worried all the fans were going to be too rowdy and mayhem would erupt.
Yea right,... like it was going to be more rowdy than a bunch of frat jocks and drunk hyped up fans that show up for any given football Saturday.
Most mellow considerate crowd I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of.

17 concerts from 79 to 2002 coast to coast. Some outdoor some big venues few intimate venues. All great.
Gilmour solo doesn't suck either.
See David Gilmour self-titled from 78. Just discovered it about a year ago. 3rd track, 6mins in "Theres No Way Out of Here" rocks. Progressive rock at its best.

Bobs you must be a philly guy. I probably saw 50 concerts at the spectrum, but sadly never PF.
I wore out my copy of this driving routes 202, 3, and 100, cranking my Pioneer super tuner/ Jensen triaxs in my 72 Vcode 442 in the late 70s. Interestingly, the 8track ‘pigs on the wing’ version is unique to the Bill Lear invention, and has a great guitar solo joining the two separate album versions.

I played my recently acquired Akai Quad 8 and Stereo 8 Track Player. It is harder on the tape than my Pioneer. I need to rebuild my 8 track cartridges. Apparently, one replaces the splice foil, the sponge behind the tape at the read point, and the main drive roller.

And then there’s Roger and his recent tour, he opens each show with “if you’re one of those, ‘I like Rogers music but don’t like his politics, then go f-ck off to the bar’”. Saw him in Philly last year at the Wells Fargo Center. Everybody present knows Roger has written powerful and controversial lyrics for 40+ years about social and political issues. This will be no different. Margaret thatcher, and Mary Whitehouse, easy targets back then, morph into Donald Trump today, not unexpectedly.
This version of pigs (three different ones) in Mexico City from 2016 is classic Roger. The fractured relationship with his surviving mates, Nick and David is a damn shame.
I missed the “In the flesh” tour in ‘77, but Roger can still rock Animals.

That's why The Final Cut is still one of my favorite Floyd albums. It is one of the most viciously anti establishment records that I have ever heard. "The Fletcher Memorial Home" and "The Post War Dream" are 2 of the best.
I like Dark Side of the Moon, but was always somewhat irritated that "Money" was on it. The song just never fit with the vibe of the rest of the album. It always felt like some producer told them "You need to put a song on the record that will get air play".

Saw many concerts at the Spectrum, mid 70's Flyers games were the best.

As a kid, I had a friend who's Dad was the penalty box time keeper for the Flyers games. He used to get us great seats right behind the box. Fun times!
I also grew up going to the Spectrum and the Vet. A ton of concerts, and lots of 76er and Flyers games. I don't think that I could even count how many Philly games I went to as a kid. And even though I had moved away while I was in the Navy, I made sure that my son's 1st MLB experience was a Philly game at the Vet.

Dark side definitely one of the most played, multi generational albums of all time. I will never forget the first time I heard it..its like a rock opera of the mind..one blends into the other and on and on..especially after a few bong hits back in the day..still love that album along with The Wall and Wish You Were Here..
