Where's the beef? My freezer.

Bought half a cow from a friend who raises them as a hobby. My 7.2 cubic foot chest freezer and my fridge freezer is rather full with it and the venison I still had.

Many kinds of steaks, a few roasts, and a butt-ton of ground. I do love the cheeseburgers and steaks, but, if anyone cares to recommend recipes you prefer, I'd certainly try them out.

Sounds like you need to look into getting a smoker.

I have a buddy that raises beef cows. We buy a whole one from him every year and I just picked the new one up a few days ago. Another buddy raises hogs and we buy two every year. We raise a few hundred meat chickens every summer and sell those to friends and family, excluding the 50 we keep for ourselves. I raised hogs for a few years, so I'm glad we share in the work.

About the only meat we have to buy from the store is bacon since two hogs isn't enough bacon to last us a year. We have a big freezer out in the garage that's big enough to store all the meat. Hopefully it never dies when it's full.

The MIL can't have red meat, so We(the wife and I) ended up with the whole heifer this year. all 680 processed pounds of her. Good thing the wife scratched carbs from her (aka. our) diet.
