CQR- Okay, thanks for the info. 75mph is our limit at motorway, and most drive 85mph - including me. With Cutlass i always drove just 75mph tho. Thats how i figured it out, i think im just right on the verge then on streetability - performance axel. Great choice then. Im gonna keep my SBO anyways. And TH350.

Praise the lord she figured out herself to leave the job.. Atleast at here it is really hard to just kick someone out of work, thanks to labor unions..

Bee-Oh-Pee - No i havent. Atleast it dont ring any bells. Ill check it out at weekend.
A-class weekend, wifeys away

Hi everyone.

Beautiful but chilly today. I think it got to 60. Gonna be another cold one tonight.

Clint I'm sorry you're having trouble keeping help. Odd that a mom would be unreliable. Wonder how the kids fare, or will turn out? Keep that name in mind, one might come knocking in a few years.

John the kennel might not be a bad idea. With the other two it was a disaster trying to corral them outside of the house, and we didn't venture far anyway. This boy, when we were out riding around before, lays down right next to me and is calm when driving. A more thrifty vessel is still a need. Once we get that, we can see how a kennel would fit in.

How you doin' today Dan?

Thanks Jamesbo I'll give it a try.

Night 3. Last night wasn't too bad. Didn't get out ultra early but the evening was way more relaxed than previous. I'm guessing tonight we'll go back to frazzled, three mechs again and getting the planes ready for the weekend.

Okay, have a good evening everyone, one more and it's the weekend.

Morning all,

Not too bad weather here, up to around 60 and overcast. Had my truck washed and polished yesterday, turns out it is white after all.

Lazy day today, got to move a bit of furniture to my lockup and that's about it for the day. Yesterday I went to the huge shopping mall next to where they had the London Olympics to buy a couple of things for myself and my wife phoned me to buy her some underwear. Hmm, so I trudge off to Victoria's Secret, where I was told to go. I start browsing through the underwear and I hold up a pair of black panties to see if they would fit her, then a young shop assistant pipes up " I don't think they are your size, the larger ones are towards the bottom of the shelf" .Idiot. How stupid did I look. I phoned the wife and told her to buy her own stuff.

Dan. I assume this is your first "nose job". I ended up having surgery three times and I still get sinusitis once a year, but it does stop the snoring for a year or so. What I found was really good for me was going to a steam room that has a menthol vapour in it, just don't try to blow your nose, let gravity do its work.

Well, fiancee left after dinner. Now its quiet. Comes back sunday evening.

LondonCutlass - Great story there Had fun reading it

Bee-Oh-Pee - Listened Julia today. Actually ive heard it every now and then, didnt just know the Singer. Its okayish.

Hmhmm.. If id had to rant from something, id rant for having American car as hobby. 2 to 3 weeks to get just some simple coil spring insulators.. Also, postage was over half of the total price. Ive funded postal services more than any part seller with my car.

Chili but spose to warm up

Headed to the hills with Red Dog

Dan. Glad you're feel'in more better

London, How 'bout sum pics of your shopping spree

Mike, Red was a rescue and when we take him to the vet it's FIFO cause he ain't never going in a kennel. Before we knew that 5 people tried to get him in one and he won the tug of war

Some dogs like them and some don't. I used to have a jeep with a dog box on the back, I'd leave it open and open the gate and let my pointers out and they would haul a$$ to jump in the dog box on my jeep {knew they we're going hunting]

GTG

Have a great day Olds friends

Overcast, muggy, cooiish, & rain on way today & tomorrow. Makes me so glad that the parades aren't on our agenda -- at all.

Inline, it was just a thought. You're more a "rocker," right? Julia's more of a "soft rocker." Gets play on "easy listening" & smooth jazz stations.

Dan, good to hear your Jimmy Durante might be turning the corner, so to speak....

Mike, hope all goes well with the pup. Can only speak to our experience. I'm sure Jamesbo has a point.

London, sounds like a young, new employee just trying to be "hip," if not trying to flirt with you. Although it would've been muy embarrassing for me as well and I'd have negatively reacted, I'm sure the dope didn't mean anything by it. (I have a helluva' nerve talking about folks not meaning anything, right?)

Whelpt, y'all have a great Friday, Olds buds.

Evening all.

Another day, another stupid law from our traffic hating mayor. From today all car built before 2006 will have to pay an extra £10 per day on top of the £16 congestion charge to drive into the city of London. Thankfully classic cars over 40 years old are exempt. Yet another stealth tax disguised as a way to promote clean air.

Jamesbo, trust me, you don't want a picture of the stuff I have to buy.

Bee-oh-pee, young girls flirting with me, I would be so lucky

Hi everyone.

Another beauty and pretty warm, too. Hope it holds out for the weekend. I'm pretty behind got a lot of catching up to do.

London does the mayor drive through the city? Or is chauffeured? The mayor of Atlanta is driven in a big Suburban or Expidition type vehicle and he screams through red lights and dodges traffic and causes accidents.

John we'll see how things go. The only thing I have to go on is what we did for my boy and girl. Eventually things will get tweaked and Tiger will have his own thing going on. I am pleased, though, at how well he rides so far. Maybe if we take off for Florida he'll start asking "are we there yet" five miles into the trip. The big airline crate is still in the living room, Tiger has stuck his nose in it but has yet to venture in.

London, the shopping mall. I haven't been there in years. I also never walk past VS. The overpowering perfume smell that emanates from there sends me into a sneezing fit.

Well it's time to hit it. Friday for me. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Good night, Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are.

Good Morning.

LondonCutlass - Great Mayor you have.. That s***s.. Be sure you drive your Cutlass daily, and hope the mayor chokes to its fumes.
Remember when i ranted about additional expenses planned for us? Quess what? They pulled it back due to all rant from citizens of Finland. But that was a close call. They also pulled back taxes for motorcycles and motorboats due to same public rant.
Its one thing to tax something to really use it somewhere where its needed and is in direct relation to thing where the taxes will be collected, but when its clearly just meant to be used on leaders dinners..........

But its saturday. = Sauna day. Great!

Mike, Those touristy candle shops do the same thing to me. I may be allergic to eucalyptus

Inline, Rolling back a tax in the U.S.A is almost unheard of. Regardless of how people feel about it.

Good morning everyone.

Home fairly early this morning, got a couple hours sleep before Tiger decided it was time to play. Raining already, so it's inside stuff today.

Might go phone shopping today. Still don't see a real need but there are a couple things I'd like to do that a flip open phone can't, or won't very well.

Got a couple errands to run, started by Awful house, then who knows. I'll be solo on the trip this morning, the van is in hiding.

Happy Saturday everyone.

Rained half the night.... froggy and in the 50s this mernin'.

Mike, sounds as if you have half the battle won since you already have the Delta "crate." BTW, I heard they were reinstituting meals on their flights. I guess that's good.... Beats the heck out of pretzels, in my book.

I got a million of 'em... Who remembers the famous scene where he "kicked the bucket" in Mad Mad Mad Mad World? Even though it was about 3 hrs long, that was one of my favorite childhood movies.

I'm not too fond of the strong scents either... even the detergent aisle at the grocery is over the limit these days. I don't know whether I'm ashamed or proud of it, but I didn't know VS sold perfumes, smelly lotions, etc. --> I've never gotten within 50' of one.

Y'all have a great weekend, Olds friends.

Bee-Oh-Pee - As you often ( thanks for it) do suggest me new singers / bands to listen for, id like to give you something back. Every time i listen this, this single song gives me great mood, every time.

This is my summer, in one song, been for 5 years. It contains everything.
This video about that famous Finnish song is particularly important for me ( It was made to celebrate one of our most listened media-houses birthdays, and to include Finnish summer under 4 minutes ( Original representation is from Aknestik from 80's - this is just re-singed By current famous Finnish artists )).

Quess what, we are there too. At 3.03..3.04 ( even they filmed us over half an hour at work ).
Im the second from left. The middle guy was the one who died at december. Others are my friends, some better, some less.

Have fun listening, hope you like the sound! And look closely, thats our summer, i love it!

John, my brother and I saw that movie when we were kids, I still love it today. The State of Michigan wants to get rid of property taxes, and people think that is great, but that revenue has to be made up somewhere, and of course the citizens/taxpayers will be the ones to pay...just smoke and mirrors.

John the meals will be on long haul flights, coast to coast. International has meals, don't think they ever went away.

The big crate was a purchase for Max, in 1989. We would barricade him in the kitchen when we left, and he'd jump over the barricade, shred the Sunday Tribune, and jump back before we got home. We got the crate and he instantly loved it. So it's been around awhile. If my girl were locked in it, she could get out in nothing flat. She completely destroyed one of those metal ones like you were talking about.

So I saw my one friend at the Awful house, he was there for round two. Sat and talked with him awhile and solved the world's problems. It was raining when I left but now the sun is out. But everything is a muddy mess, so we're staying inside.

Evening all. I have a real problem with the smells in shops and on people. I have an allergy to most perfumes. When I interview girls for work I always inform them about my "problem " and if they still insist on wearing perfume then I cancel the interview. My wife is very good and never puts anything on unless she wants to get me out the house.

Strange weather we are having, it's actually very nice and in the 60s which is weird for February.

The only good thing about VS is some pretty hot women working there.

Mike, I haven't a clue how the mayor gets around, I never voted for him nor do I care for his politics, however the mayor of my London borough is a really nice guy. I have his grandchildren in my school and his daughter is a news presenter on the TV.

Inline. I intend to take the Cutlass out tomorrow for an early morning blast around town, lets see how many neighbours I can wake up when I start her up.

Mike, I thought all the worlds problems were solved on CO, not the Aweful House

Dan, How ya feel'in today

Good morning everyone.

No rain here, looks like it will be a pretty day. Hope it warms up.

My sister and her husband both work for the same company and they will be in Atlanta this week for work. We're meeting tonight for dinner, it will be nice to see them.

Jamesbo we talk about anything and everything at the Awful house. Our own little version of Cheers.

Guess I'll get moving. One week with Tiger today. Have a good day everyone.

'Nuther foggy and coolish one in the Swamp. I have no idea what the weather is spose to do before Mardi Gras in 9 days, but I know we're in for at least a couple spates of showers. It would be great to get it done in the mornings and let all the families and parade-goers and float-riders get their annual events off without getting flooded (or blown off the floats, which has happened).

Mike, I can't imagine a pup breaking out of a metal cage, but I'm sure stranger things have happened. What I heard about Delta was that even on short trips (maybe there's a minimum # of miles?), there would be an improvement over the peanuts & a beverage. I heard they'd be serving things like turkey sandwiches & such even on shorter hauls. But U B the D guy , so I defer. It's prolly all "fake news."

Took the AARP Driver Safety couse online yesterday and it took 5 hours! But it's supposed to give us a pretty good discount on our insurance; so I'm hoping it was worth it. Anybody else considering it? If so, there's a coupon for 30% off thru 2/28. (Full pop is only $25 anyway.) I'd say it was somewhat helpful, and I'd say for those even more geezerish than I, it would be absolutely downright helpful.

Inline, that's nice stuff... The song & video really create an atmosphere. The music reminded be a bit of old Abba, whom I used to like a lot before I suffered thru Mama Mia a few years back. (Since I'm a huge James Bond fan, I wondered how bad it could be with Pierce Brosnan in it. Unfortunately my question was answered in spades.)

I think our noses are related.... I got Better Half to quit with the perfumes decades ago, but now the "all natural" and herbal lotions she uses on occasion are getting to me. I guess as long as I don't physically react to it, I'll be OK... gotta' make some concessions, and she really seems to like all that stuff.
At my last place of employment, there were written policies promulgated about perfumes; some disobeyed, but it was a real good start for those of us with the sensitive schnozzes.

I had promised "before" & "after" pic's of the SF WSW--> I didn't take off his little warning wrapping yet -- I'll take it off when it's time to plug it back in. But (assuming it works), I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Notice that he changed my washer nozzle head to the 90-degree type, which he said was proper for '64.

Y'all have a great Sunday, Olds amigos.

Not bad today Jamesbo. We have had temps 25-30° above normal for the last couple of days (with sunshine), putting us at the lower 50's to 60ish in areas, so with that, I got in the DD yesterday and took a 30 mile scenic drive just to get out and enjoy the weather a bit. Might do it again today. Strong perfume bugs the heck out my snozzola also, and I avoid women who pour it on. A few years ago, when I walked down the aisle where they keep the herbicides in a local store, I had a strong response, as in get out of there now! I have no idea why, I stood at the end of the row out in the main aisle to look at what I wanted, zipped down and grabbed it, then hightailed it out of there. I was like that for about three years, with it lessening each year. Doesn't bother me now, and I have no idea what caused it.

Good morning everyone.

Had a nice dinner with my sister. We went to O'Charleys. Well, the company was nice, the service was horrible. I don't remember service there ever being terrific. I think I'm done with that place.

Well the lake is on the rise for good. That's okay. It will help to contain Tiger when he's outside. I can still do some work over the summer with the lake full, so I'm not going to sweat it. The lake people can still kiss my ***.

John the wiper motor looks good. It will look good installed. How's the front end coming along?

Johnny you're a lucky son of a gun. Just moved to Arizona? I wanted to move out there some years ago. I was on a transfer list for Phoenix and the company was just starting on hard times, people were getting laid off, and they were trying to exhaust all the transfer lists. They said, if you are picked to transfer and you don't go, you're fired. So I took my name off the list. Rumor was if you took a transfer you had three weeks to get there. No way I could have moved all my stuff and a geriatric dog cross country in three weeks.

Lots to do today. Gonna hit the Awful house, then go get the blue van which is hiding at the shop, take Tiger to the vet for a check up, and run a few errands. By that time it should be pretty warm out and we can do some stuff in the yard. I got one of those screw things for the yard and a long chain. He doesn't like it but is good on the chain, so he can be outside with me and not run off.

Okay Happy Monday everyone.

Mornin all.

John, The motor looks great. Have you installed it to see if it works yet?

Jamesbo, yes, I'm a one man band at the moment.

Mike I've met lots of Mothers that don't have their poop in a group, and this one is the 'partner' of the actual birth mother of the 2 kids.

Went riding for the first time since last year. I forgot what really sore felt like.

Have a day.

Hola, all... more fog, muggies, and sweat for today here in the Swamp, then a big wave of showers scheduled to arrive overnight. Have an app't to go get a new windshield in the Fusion at 3 this afternoon. This will be #4 since the assembly line in 2010! I'll prolly get a big rock on the way home....

Thanks, guys. No, it's not installed yet... will prolly be a few months, in all honesty. Front end is still apart, but I'm making progress! Have the parts washer all set up and am ready to start degreasing components.

Clint, I take it that the joints in the transmission linkage on these GM cars either come apart with the little retainer, or the joints don't come apart... looks like there are a couple places that are attached rather permanently. I guess I'll just clean and shoot some white grease in there. I was hoping to get all the links apart and replace those sponge donuts that are in there. But hope is dimming...

Whelpt, full plate today. Y'all have a great one, Olds buds.

If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.
Two break ins in ten days and now last night Mr Stupid here forgot to lock the truck and of course some git decided he wanted the contents. I lost all my spare change which was about £30 and also a pot that I keep all of my foreign money in which was about $60 and €85 but I was still most peeved about the pot as it was specific for my truck and I'm not sure if I can get another.

So, I get to work and I get a call from my architect who asked my to pop in and see him. I am going for planning permission at work to get the property next door and I have now had 15 objections from my lovely neighbours in the retirement block adjacent to me, I thought old folk enjoyed having children around. If they want a war, they've got it!

Anyway, on the positive side, I'm still alive!

Have a great week, or at least better than mine!

Mernin' all.... Rained practically all night... did nothing for the road, and of course, my cretin neighbors (Lord, forgive me) will be working hard to drive right thru all the low spots at top speed. Additionally, Cretin #1 (forgive me again) had some stump-jumpin' cousin out there riding thru the woods in a old Toyota P/U (with no windshield, mind you) with a chain on the back bumper dragging logs around. When he rode on the road, you could surmise that it wasn't doing the road an iota of good. But nuffadat. (Inline, how's that for an English word?)

Jamesbo, you're right... I've been working on multiple hunks of iron. Since I've had the GS for over 2 years and have basically done nothing to it, I decided to get it off the ground over the weekend to take the pressure off the tires & suspension. Then I pulled the spark plugs and shot some oil into the cylinders and turned the engine over manually once or twice. At least it turns smoothly... Having a dry, climate-controlled garage makes up for a lot of (my) ills. I actually got underneath the GS for the first time once it was "in the air." Other than the massive tranny leak, it looks really nice under there. Of course, the seller knew NOTHING of a tranny leak. (Right.) And he didn't know a thing about the half of a fan shroud that was on the car when I got it. (He put it on!)

Anyhoots, all this stuff is partially responsible for my current automotive malaise. But when the going gets tough, the tough watch another episode of Highway Thru Hell. (Isn't that the adage?)

Whelpt, sorry your play left a little to be desired, Jamesbo.

As far as working by oneself, I think I wrote the book.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, L. Cutlass. I know we have no patent on crime on these shores. However, according to my last tally, there have been two shootings on parade routes in N.O. since the season began in earnest last week. I'm so happy to be away from the city of my youth, and will be even happier to be in the N. GA hills in two days.

Y'all have a great one, Olds chums.

WTF!!!!

It's happened again last night, this time the Alpina got broken into. The police reckon it's a gang that targets a certain area then moves on. They've managed to pull the window and damage where it sits under the convertible hood, about £650 to fix so I may as well go through my insurance. Nothing stolen as I keep nothing in there.

I hope this week finishes soon, I've had enough.

Oh my... Youre a man with some really bad luck...

Jamesbo - Its that machine i put a picture few posts ago, its on this page. Thats called cold-milling machine. The one reading Wirtgen on its side. For real, its called that

Well, our locker installation didnt go as in books....
For starters, it was supposed to be a peg-leg. Some mopar-expert had sayed so to my friend after opening the rear. So my friend bought that lock-right and i was supposed to install it. Well.. Since it was "known" it dont have locker, we started to disassemble parts. Turns out, theres friction plates on both sides. Noticed when spiders were off already. Long story short, lock-right ( surprise) wont fit to LSD-carrier, and we just might have damaged one spider-gear cause we tought were not needing them anymore.
Good news: he can sell his lock-right and just buy new plates.
Bad news: he might need new spiders, too...

Hi everyone.

Monday for me. We got a little rain this afternoon, just enough to get things wet.

London that's ashame. It almost sounds personal, not just a random group.

John that's funny. He didn't know the fan shroud was broken yet he put it on. What a clown. I have a feeling this could end up a 1000 point show car and you wouldn't be happy with it. I thought your go-to was Sherriff Dan.

Jamesbo the food was okay, the service sucked. That seems to be more and more the norm here in Henry County.

Guess we'll go out and then I'll hit the road. Hope the week is going good for everyone.
