Hi everyone. Got the car back this morning. Looks good. They decided to forego the Ford specialist and take it to a body shop. Good call.

Nice and hot here. It's about 100 but not very humid. Love it.

Allan do you know why the service people wash the windshield before you pick up your car? Because a car with a clean windshield runs better. Really. If you are looking at bugs or streaks you will subconsciously(or not) be unhappy and you'll perceive that the car isn't running right. Wash the windshield and there's less of a chance you'll bring it back thinking it isn't fixed.

Guess I'll find something to do. Not like I don't have lists of things. I should really say I need to find something I want to do.

Jamesbo why can't you make your tee time now, for first thing in the morning?

Hey, Gang... and happy Thor's day to you all ... especially Allan. ;-)

Worked on s. shore two days this week... got all the remaining interior walls completely prepped for painting. Restained the kitchen cabinets. Some real estate agent is showing it tonight, so maybe we'll get more than a nibble? Whelpt, it's been on the market for less than a month, so we need to give it time.

Getting up at zero-dark-thirty tomorrow for our little jaunt up to N. Michigan. It'll be over before we realize we're gone, but should be nice; at least a little respite from the mid-90's and high humidity for a few days. I'll see if we can take a few pic's of Gene's antiques for you guys. Car show in Boyne City is Saturday, and the rest of the time, we'll be hanging out and checking out all the things up there we haven't seen in a few years.

Anyhoots, hang in there, Sandy! I know you say God keeps putting a wrench in your plans, but remember that what seems like a lemon today can be lemondade tomorrow. All we can do is take it as it comes and live one day at a time... You remain in our thoughts & prayers. We love you! Hope it all works out great (I know it will) and that you will be breathing the crisp, dry air of AZ within a couple years.

Y'all have a great resto'day, Oldsmobuds.

??? They wash the whole car because it's policy and they have a reputation to uphold. Who wants to pick up and drive around in a filthy car? They also vacuum and freshen the interiors.

Mike, you gotta know I washed that Sonata myself when I got it home and did all the windows inside and outside before I did that trip because I have higher standards than the rental place. When I was done, it was spotless, (even cleaned the 'inside' of the allow rims - hows that for ****??) Heck, I even pressure washed the engine compartment!! But the car still isn't as good as my 07. I'm with Jim on this one.

Allan you missed my point. If you take the shop a dirty car with a problem, and they fix the problem and give you back the dirty car, your subconscious will perceive that since they gave you back the same car, it will still have the same problem. But if they give you back a shiny car you will think that since the car looks better it will also run better. It's all mental. Now, as far as you spit-shining the rental, they may not believe that's their car when you go to turn it in.

A little bit of rain this evening and a lot of thunder. The weather channel says it will clear up after midnight, only to return mid morning tomorrow. I have plenty of stuff to do inside so the day won't be a bust. Still don't like rain.

John safe trip to Michigan. Yes Michigan, the feeling's forever. Fingers crossed that the people tonight liked what they saw.

Seven Thirty Jamesbo, don't forget.

Darrell how's the pooch?

Guess I'll hit the sack. Won't get a lot of sleep tonight if the storm lingers, but might as well give it a try. The dogs right now are asleep under my desk. Silly dogs.

Onward Friday.

Yeah, I get your point Mike but I'm kind of lost about how it relates to my 07 going into the body shop. They have to replace the hood, fender, side glass, mirror and paint the whole front end to blend everything. Of course they're going to wash it and detail it before they give it back. If they don't I won't accept it till they do. It went in fresh and clean inside, and except for the damage it was spotless on the outside too.

You're right - Enterprise probably won't recognize the car when I give it back. It looks like new.

Mornin all.

Jamesbo, Don't ferget.

Allan, We sent in the wifes Taco to get repaired when the kid backed it into a center barrier at 50 MPH. (Her truck is a Sty.) The poor guys detailed the entire truck, I gave them kudo's for that. That was probably worth the $5K the insurance paid them.

Mike there is also another trick. After doing brakes, move the drivers seat forward one click and they will swear the brake pedal is much higher than before you did the brakes.

John, Are you looking for a coppertone replacement up there? Have a good trip.

Sandy, I'm thinking about cha. It's Friday at least. The kid got kind of a 'promotion' She is moving out of the Hospital and going to be a tech for one of the Large animal Vets. and gets to drive the vet around to the calls.

Well, looks like we finally picked out the trailer we want. So I need to get it ordered today. Probably take 8-10 weeks delivery. Have a weekend all.

Good morning all.

Seems like a nice enough day so far, overcast but calm. The rain is supposed to come back this morning some time. Jamesbo the house survived the thunder. When I'm home and it thunders the dogs try to climb into my pocket. It's when I'm not home that they come unglued.

Clint that's funny about the brake pedal. Allan I wasn't talking about your body shop specifically, it was a generic statement of that's why they do that. Certainly no shop is going to give your car back with filler dust and compound all over it.

Walmart today. Even if it doesn't rain it will be inside stuff to do. Everything is a muddy mess. Hope Friday measures up to everyone's expectations.

Morning everyone, Freya's Day rules!

Jim - Good tee time. I only take my vehicles to the dealer when they're under warranty. Rest of the time I do the work myself unless I need it on a hoist or it's too complicated. Den I have a shop like Clint's that I use.

John - Have a safe trip. Hope the real estate agent found your buyer last night. By now I imagine you're sick of painting.

Mike - Saw a neat thing about installing a battery tender on a deuce. It's solar powered and just lies on the fender. Don't think it was expensive but thought you might be interested if you don't use it much.

Clint - Is the new trailer going to be same size? Seems like a long time to get it, but I don't know if that's normal turnaround time on those.

Supposed to be on and off rain all day today. So far it's purty nice. De boy is going to an Animethon today. Not for me, but he likes that stuff.

Mornin all.

Congrats on the annelid Jamesbo.

Allan, This trailer will be a bit longer. We asked the mfg. of our current trailer if they would build us another like our 2001 lay-out (basic) and they said they would but it was gonna cost a couple G's more than what they build now.
Looks like we are gonna have one built by Forest River. It's going to be much more luxurious than the one we have now. They are coming out with a new model that they haven't released yet. But they said they would build one for us before the RV show in Sept. I'm still in negotiations on options, colors etc. It's also going to be a bit heavier than the last one. (10K GVW compared to 7K GVW)

Oh dear. It's after 10, I'm not dressed yet, and I just had a big bowl of Fruit Loops(I was out of Lucky Charms). Do you know what that means? No Awful house this morning! It will be an odd day for sure.

The dogs woke me up at 7 and I said, oh I think we need to continue sleeping. They came back at 930. Lordy, half the day is gone.

I think I'll get ready and then hit the junkyard. I haven't been there in over a month. Rain comes back around 3 this afternoon.

Happy Weekend everyone.

Morning all. Canadian werm!

Clint - Sounds like everything is going to work out just fine. Does the extra tow weight mean you'll need to get a new truck to haul it?

Good and bad news yesterday. I dropped into the body shop to see how the repairs to my Sonata are going. The owner took me out to the 'compound' where it was waiting to get prepped. WTH??? The whole front end was missing, and then I noticed so was the back end! No rear bumper or tail lights and bondo om the rear left quarter. That shocked me because I expected it to be further along, and when I dropped it off the back end was like factory new. Turns out they hit my car with another one while moving things around. So now they're painting the whole front, entire left side and rear end. This is only 2 right side doors away from a total repaint. I wonder if they would have told me about the other damage if I'd just waited to pick it up. Now they're saying it won't be ready till at least the end of next week.

Time fer my mawnin kaffeeklatsch

Well I didn't get a lot done today, and am disappointed. But not surprised.

I did go to the junkyard. I could have gone there before I showered, I would have fit right in. Oh my. Not much in the way of interesting parts there, in fact most of the cars were the same as the last time I was there mid-June.

Allan I wonder if I could put out a solar panel and just run leads to all the cars. I started up the Deuce today and took it for a nice ride. Holy Toledo that guy needs power steering! Got it positioned to change the two front tires. Then found out the lug nuts get torqued to 325 ft.lbs. I may have to do this in the parking lot at work so I can use a torque wrench that we use on the airplanes.

Clint I'm jealous. I need a new flatbed but what I really want is a nice enclosed trailer. Right on getting the 10K lb one. You put anything bigger than a go cart in a 7K trailer and it's at the limit. Nice to have a little extra. Actually the next thing I buy is going to be either a yard implement of some sort(backhoe, bobcat, etc) or a rollback/ramp truck. Or a house with a big shop.

Rain has been threatening all evening. Thunder then nothing. The dogs get upset then finally calm down and then more thunder. But no rain. Sheesh.

My best friend and I have been making plans for me to visit him in October. He's in Denver. When he lived in LA he was right next to Orange County airport and I'd always seem to have to fly into LAX. So when we were making plans I said, I may have to fly into Grand Junction. He didn't think that was very funny. Grand Junction is 250 miles from Denver.

I'll really have to sleep in tomorrow, so I can go back to work. Need to stay up really late tonight as well. Better leave the TV off or I'll fall asleep watching it.

Okay everyone hope your Saturday went well and your Sunday is better.

Well, Mike ya did more than me today, I went to car show, and ordered a pizza,....urp! I wanted to get out into the garage, but while at the car show developed a headache that lasted about four hours, probably my dang sinus', took some ibuprofen, and a nap to dull it down.

Good mornin.

Jamesbo. Good luck. It's a bitch but it's well worth it.

Mike this one will be built much heavier than our last one. I'm really surprised our last one lasted so long. The new one will have 16" 6 lug wheels and a full perimeter frame. It will have aluminum wall studs and FRP outside walls. It's supposed to kind of look like this.

Allan, no. I already have a Chebby 3/4 ton Diesel. It'll be fine to pull it.

Dan Hope the head is petter this morning.

Well Looks like Tony Stewart may be in a bit of trouble.

Have the fair to go to today and then I'm taking my Bride to Red Rocks amphitheater tonight for a Train Concert.

Have a Good day all.

Morning all!

Jim - Sorry, wish I could give you a surefire cure but I can't. Maybe go wild turkey instead of cold turkey??

Clint - Beautiful looking unit; make sure it has AC. Train is a great band - I love their music. One of my favs -

Mike - Probably you could just get some small basic solar tenders. I don't know if you could hook up one to run in series with all the batteries in your fleet. The good news wasn't about the body shop. I forgot to mention that. So the good news is that my goofy Mom finally picked up the phone and found out her dialing finger still works. I think she's developing CRAFT syndrome, but that keeps her on a roll mentioning the same thing over and over....She wanted to let me know about my Uncles memorial service on Aug 30.

John - Didn't forget. Happy Suns day my friend. Hope your trip is going well. Not too often the southerners decide to pull up roots and take a vacation in de north country.

I had this durned thing all composed on the iPad this mawnin around 7 am and then the wifi went bazinga, so I played 2048 for a few hours and had Koffee. Good thing my desktop is reliable. Well, time to go outside and enjoy the day.

Hi everyone.

Time for work. Hope it's a good week like last week. Nice afternoon now, but we've had thunder and rain off and on all afternoon. The dogs won't go out, which they will be sorry for later, because they think the thunder is still out there lurking. Silly dogs.

Allan what is 2048? I had to look up CRAFT syndrome. Hadn't heard of it before, I get it too.

Clint sweet trailer. My plan at one time was to get a 28ft enclosed trailer and turn the front half into a camper and then have a car or whatever in the back half. I decided that a 28ft trailer was a tad long to tow. Uh huh. Have fun at the Red Rocks. I saw Train open up for the Grateful Dead at Soldier Field around 95-95.

Jamesbo get some of those chewing gum cigarettes. They look like cigarettes and they're sweet.

Okay gonna HTB. Have a good night everyone and hope your week starts out good.

Mike, 2048 is a game. I play on a 12x12 board. So far I've got over 5 hours on that board and I'm only on line 3 most of the time. No trouble getting to 2048, I also have 4096 and 8192 tiles on my board right now with smatterings of 128, 256, 512 and 1024. Not sure how far I'll get. If you're interested here's a link to the basic 4x4 2048 game board. It's based on mathematical progressions of the number 2.

Just follow the screen instruction on how to play. This is a highly addicting game. http://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/

If that one is not much challenge, I can link you to a 6x6 board for starters.

Mornin all.

Not a lot of sleep last night. Train put on a good show. ANd I tried to buy a pig from the girl we bought from last year at the auction. But a Car dealership really wanted it I guess. I was outbid. So it was overall a good day.

Allan, yes it has A/C and a Furnace, Stovetop, Sink etc. Still not 100% on it yet. We need more info before we sign on the dotted line.

Have a Moanday.

Luna day to all, especially John!

Gonna be a hot one. Looked at a Buick Regal yesterday for the boy. It's a 2002 with only 34k actual miles. Full load and looks like new inside and out. Ask is 5 grand but I'm not really sure I need to buy it. I know thr 3800 series II is a great engine and the L460E is also really reliable. Biggest problem is the boy wants to go back to college and take more courses so he won't need it for at least a year and I don't need the drive plugged with a car that won't be licensed or insured.

Jim - Hope Whitey takes the edge of yer cravings.

Mike - Fruit Loops? Lucky Charms? Next you'll say you have Trix too? You can't have Trix cause the rabbit says they're only for kids.

Clint - Wifi, cable, entertainment area,, rope lights for night time trips to the extra large shower/bafroom, slide outs on both sides, queen bed in the fun n games room! I'm sure you guys have a more comprehensive list. By the time it's built and delivered the season will be done anyway. Ask for an 'introductory' model price break.

You're welcome Dan! Told you it was addictive. I hate to admit I've got over 11 hours in on my 12x12 edition and I just passed the 700,000 points level. I don't mind doing this when it's hot outside and cooler in here. How far did you get? It's easy to get 2048. If you want to try the 6x6 edition - it's a bit harder http://2048game.com/variations/6x6.html

Afternoon all!

Rainy and humid here. The usual lol. Temps around 70*. Mode of the same for tomorrow then cold again with 50's at night. Steve will freeze to death. He's had his heater on in here all day and several days last week! Wish he'd just wear long sleeved shirts since he's cold.

So I went to see the lung doc this morning. He called it mild COPD, had me breathe different ways while he listened to my lungs. Said he didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. He gave me a Symbicort inhaler and and a script for an Albuterol inhaler for emergencies. I'm to use this Symbicort one twice a day and see if I can tell a difference with my breathing. He wants to see me in 3 mos. If I'm not breathing better, he wants to do a CAT scan of my chest. He thinks the radiation I had on the left breast 23 years ago may have damaged the lung some. I guess my lungs are kind of holding air instead of letting it all out and having problems with switching the carbon monoxide to oxygen thing. Whatever.

I gave him a copy of my sleep apnea report from 2001 showing where I have the moderate obstructive apnea. He asked if I use a CPAP machine and I told him nope. I didn't like that big bulky thing. He said he'd lime me to be tested again and maybe get a newer machine after the surgery. I should have asked if I could do that now since my insurance is paying 100%. I'm not going to run up a bunch more bills next year that I'll spend the next 2 years paying off. Maybe I'll call him back and ask.

He said he will send copies of these reports to the docs at the Clinic, but they might want to do their own testing. God I hope not! I tried to tell him I told Rehmus about this 6 months ago and she didn't seem to care..... Now all of a sudden its a big deal. Boy that makes me mad!!!!!

I just want to get this awful surgery done and keep moving forward with no more surprises. Nothing had better postpone this surgery now.

I had a wonderful grumpyass free weekend!!!!!! He left about 3am Friday morning. First thing I did when I got home from work Friday .... I went in the spare room closet and dug out a little old black leather purse. I took it out to the breezeway. I got my little step stool and set it behind the camera. I waited back there for a few minutes then I got on the stool and put that purse over the camera from behind! I zipped it over tight as it would go then I wrapped the straps around it. If felt sooooo good!!!!!!!!! I felt so free!! Then I went to CasaD'angelos and got me some angelhair pasta with mushrooms and took home and ate and it was so good! I enjoyed a quiet night with no Fox News blaring and I didn't have to sleep with ear plugs in. It was great! Got up early Saturday and went to a nursing home show in Broadview Heights. It was a nice show. Got a Top 15 trophy. Left there and went down the road to another show. Didn't win anything there. Then Bob from the body shop called and I met him and we had some lemonades and sat and talked for about an hour and a half. He showed me some videos on his phone he took at the Nationals. Pretty cool! I enjoyed our visit. He's so sweet. Then I headed home. Got up yesterday and went goa show at Mapleside Farms in Brunswick. Some beautiful cars there! Saw a lot of my friends. Carl came - hes the one I got the rims off of that has the beautiful blue 69 Cutlass. It was great to see him! Pam and Chris came by around 4:00 and we had some peach ice cream and walked around. There was a Pontiac Grand Prix there painted the Hurst gold and white. Chris was telling me about the history. Interesting. It was a great day! Then I came home and Larry was there with his little truck. Its cute. Underneath is very rush from sitting g in the grass for a year. Interior is plain and ugly. Back windshield is broke from rocks or a bb gun. It has surface rust. Bumpers are nice outside, starting to rust inside. Larry says it needs a fuel pump. It starts but won't stay running. They had to push it onto the trailor I guess. I wish Larry would take his time and restore it but I don't think he will.

He hasn't said a word about the camera..... I'm waiting! The purse is still over it. Its amazing how much better I feel knowing I'm not being spied on in there! And I'm going to tell him that when he mentions it.

Guess they'll be no Riverfront tonight. Its pouring again. Haven't seen a brown lawn all summer. Guess I'll putter around in the house tonight.

Well I guess I'll get off of here. Just wanted to check in. You all have a good evening.

Hi everyone.

I slept surprisingly well today for waking up every 2 1/2 hours. Last night I was a zombie at work, good thing my car knows its own way home.

Sandy I guess Larry didn't check the camera on his phone while he was gone. That's funny. If he asks what happened to the camera, just tell him it's in the bag.

Great Allan, that's all I need is another reason to spend hours on the internet. The obvious solution to the car problem is to buy the Buick now, and maybe a few others, so when the boy is ready for a car he has a nice selection that is Dad-approved.

Not a fan of Trix. Lucky Charms are my favorites but the Fruit Loops snuck in because I was trying to mix things up a little. Now if I could only find "Quisp" and "Quake."

Gonna head in a little early tonight. Got something I need to look up, and also I need to call a guy in Orlando about a Miata. Some friends of mine in Daytona want to buy one and don't know what to ask when calling. Should be fun. Too bad they don't buy one in Atlanta so I could drive it down to them.

Okay Happy Monday all, have a good evening.

Mornin all.

Jamesbo. Good on ya fer running out of butts. Keep with it.

Sandy I'm glad you had a good weekend. You should try it a little more often

Allan, The Features list doesn't make much sense. The TV antenna is standard but the TV is an option. We asked if we could delete the antenna(one less thing on the roof to have to re-caulk) and they said no. It has no slides. Here is a walk around of the floorplan, but on a 18' box. Ours will be a bit wider and 6' longer but with the same basic floorplan. I will hopefully know more today.

The first day in a world that is a lot less funny.

NSFW. RIP To a funny guy with terribly strong demons.

Have a day all.

Mike A Miata huh? I would have guess they were from Ft. Lauderdale . J/K

Morning all.

Clint - Interesting walk through. For some reason I didn't click into it being a toy hauler so I get why it doesn't have slides. If that one is way more luxurious than the old one I'm getting a the feeling the old one was just a box on wheels? How many quads/bikes will this one hold?

Jim - The RW golf video (thx Clint) is probably the truest description of golf there is. Yup, plenty o f bombs.

Yikes! Gas here just went up 38 cents/ gallon overnight.

Afternoon all!

Sun is finally out but its still humid. Had storms all last night and pretty much all day today until about an hour ago.

Our VP of the NY division is here today. He got invited to play golf over at Firestone tomorrow with the big wigs from Arcelor-Mittal. He invited Steve but Steve didn't want to go, so hes taking Brian! Brian has been like a kid since last Thursday, telling everyone about it. Pretty excited to golf on the course where the greatest have golfed! So it will be nice in here without him.

Steve (the VP) took us to lunch down here at Mavis Winkles Irish Pub. I had a corned beef sandwich and am sooo full! I should have had a salad. Larry will want to eat out when we go shopping tonight.

Jamesbo.... keep up! I'm talking about the 7 security cameras the gastapo put up around the house when we got back from AZ. Nicole had friends over while we were gone and he accused her of having a party, when actually they all left in 2 cars. But that was a 'party's to him. So now we are watched 24 hours a day 7 days a week! The camera in the breezeway is the one that really pisses me off because I have no privacy anywhere now, and if I want to go out in the breezeway and cry on my cat or scratch my ***, I don't want to be watched!!!! Its no body's business what I do. So I stuck a black purse over the camera while he was gone!

I'm sure hes seen it or looked at the recordings but isn't saying anything yet.... he will!

Mike... I love Lucky Charms and Fruit Loops. I also love Cap'n Crunch. Quisp and Quake were kinda like Cap'n Crunch. I miss those too.

Well its time to get out of here so I'll talk to you all later. Have a good one!

Hi everyone.

Another typical day for Central Florida. Rain for thirty minutes in the afternoon then nice. Oh but I'm in Georgia. It's doing this just to annoy me.

Clint I don't get it. Are there a lot of Miata's in Ft. Lauderdale? Personally I don't see what the big deal is. I had a Miata and it was okay, not terrific. This woman has always wanted one. Now, she's my size and I told her as kindly as I could, only a 12 year old is comfortable in a Miata.

Jamesbo I don't go to the Awful house every day. Just on my days off. I eat Lucky Charms when I get home from work in the morning. Sandy I also used to eat King Vitamin when I was a kid, and Fruity Pebbles. I still get FP once in a while but I haven't seen KV for years.

Allan I hope gas hasn't jumped like that here today, I need to fill up on the way to work. My economy car Saturn is no longer an economy car, weighing in at about 25mpg. About 4300 more miles and it will be time for a rebuild.

So it's Friday. Last night was stupid. I had this lead who thinks that just because he says something it is so. He gives me a sheet metal project and says get with it. I said, I don't have the first idea nor the skills to do sheet metal. Too bad he says. Everyone should know this. Well, there's only a select few, in fact, who can do sheet metal, and they like it that way because it's a clique and they don't want anyone honing in on their overtime when big project comes up. I clashed with this guy all night. I tried to get started, but it was all gibberish to me. I ended up helping on another repair and one of the sheet metal gurus came to do my repair. Sheesh.

So it's Friday. Have no idea what I'm in for tonight, but I have a feeling I should call in. Nah, it's only 12 hours. Serenity now! Serenity now!

Hope everyone has a good evening. Tomorrow is the hump.

Mornin all.

Well, my next door neighbor called me yesterday in a tizzy, saying someone was stealing my trailer. (Its nice knowing the place is being watched). They hauled off the old one yesterday. I'm a little annoyed at the dealership for the new one. I suppose I'm just a little anxious to get the ball rolling and this guy seems to be a little more nonchalant.

Allan, The old one was very basic. just a potty, outside shower, fridge, stovetop, furnace and a/c a fold down bed and 2 couch/beds. There are many TH's that have slides, carpeting, ceiling fans. Not sure why. we'd just get them dirty.

Sandy, What you need to do is take a pic of the breezeway from the camera angle. then print it out and hang it in front of the camera. then it will always look like its empty.

Jamesbo anytime. It's so nice being able to take a nice deep breath and not fall into a nasty coughing fit.

Have a humpday all.
