Hey everyone.

Spent an hour or better in the queue waiting to talk to this woman, only to find out she had boxes of tools at her house and just didn't know what to look for. Clint I thought she wanted to take the filter housing off also, but she said it was the inlet. Oh well.

Jamesbo that's funny right there. For the record, I would have said the same thing.

Went to the Chinese buffet with my neighbor. He wanted to stop at the car wash to clean up his truck. I said what's the point when it will be all yellow again tomorrow. He said he just can't stand it. I agree. He's got an Explorer. I keep trying to convince him to sell it. I hate the thing.

Nice night. Even better since I'm not at work.

What happened to "2-T"?

Great morning funny.

Mornin all.

Looks like I'm being sent to L.A. to physically look at the vert my client has 'bought'. It'll be a one day trip it seems.

Mike , I hope she got it all figured out, whatever she was trying to accomplish. Still sounds like she had other things to work on if you ask me.

Sandy, Old man winter just won't take a hint. Was 78 yesterday and is gonna be 39 and snow on Sunday

Have a thursday all.

Good morning everyone.

Sunny. The sun coming in the windows is brighter than my lights.

Morning Johhny!

John where'd you go?

Jamesbo I'm meeting a guy downtown tomorrow night for dinner, what's a good place to go close to the Omni hotel? I would suppose the hotel has a restaurant itself, I have no idea how to get around except for a couple places, nor do I know where the Omni hotel is. I'll have to look it up. What's the city like on a Friday night?

Lots to do. Errands. Awful house. Hope everyone has a good day.

Chili and clear but spose to warm up

Mike, De Omni hotel is next to de Omni a.k.a Phillips arena {I think] it used to have the world of sid and marty kroft in it [back when de ark was dry'in out] and an ice sakting rink

FWIW, I've been downtown exactly once in years and you, john and Sandy were with me.

My advice, Don't go w/o a heater

Welp, Got a busy day

Have a great one Olds friends

Mornin', all...

'Twas 45* at the Plantation this morning; spose to be gitten' up to mid-70s this afternoon, however.... No sign of Elsie today, thank goodness.

I B right here, Slantflat.... Were you talking about the quick post I made and then deleted? Clint beat me to the punch, so I figgered I'd just post from scratch. There's some radar b/w LA and CO that lets Clint know when I sit down to gobble dat worm . Clint, ain't they gettin' fatnin'? Hope you're not eatin' 'em fried. Have a safe trip to the "other LA," hombre.

Just a strange week, kinda' plannin' and waitin' for Aunt Jean's services tomorrow. A bit surreal, that's all. I guess it hasn't really sunk in yet. But we're hopin' to spend some time in da' mountains real soon and get a break from everything. It'll be good to reset the circuit breakers.

I think I'm actually going to tow the motorcycle this time, so we'll take the F-150. I got some gizmo that attaches to the handlebars and allows you to bind the bike by the bars, rather than the fork, which makes it a whole lot more stable. I'm hoping it works out. This will be the first time for me towing it, and I've been skittish about it up to now. They ought to put places on the bikes to make it easy; but they seem to to go out of their way to make it difficult to attach straps to any structural member.

You headed up, Jamesbo? What's your work week like, Mike? A rendezvous probably won't happen, but it's good to take everybody's pulse and see if there might be any intersection of itineraries. I'm thinkin' of driving to KY one day from GA, so that will take care of a whole day for me.

Anyhoots, I'm doing the "Words of Remembrance" at Aunt Jean's funeral tomorrow, so I better get crackin'....

Have a great Thursday, Oldsmobuddies.

So I leave the Awful house to go make a deposit for the Amphicar club, and what do I see but a green F85 that I had been waiting out on craigslist. It had been for sale forever by some kid who wanted too much money for it. I thought if he came down off his high horse I'd go have a look. Well someone in the Greater Stockbridge Area bought it and now I'm gonna have to see it riding around. I thought I had seen it at Walmart a couple weeks ago. Ya snooze ya lose. It looked nicer than I thought it would. Rats.

John the schedule for the next little while is, I work Saturday/Sunday/Monday then headed to California for a couple days, then I'm off from Saturday through Thursday. Funny, I need to go to Kentucky for the day as well.

When I was but a wee one, the school librarian read us a book called How To Eat Fried Worms. It was about some kid who lost a bet and he'd daydream about how he might make the worms he had to eat taste better.

Jamesbo are you saying I should take a car that I don't mind having custom holes added to it?

Okay gonna paint.

Painting isn't my favorite thing to do, but if you need a hand I'm glad to come up and help.

Going to get some paint and a rake now. The paint I got before was too light, and I'm using the neighbor's rake and don't want to break it. I looked in the woods and didn't come up with anything.

Afternoon all, well we finally opened the windows in the house for the first time since October. Nice fresh air in the house, feels nice. Snow is melting quick, just hope we don't get another dump again. Got my garage quote today, be nice to build. Need to get bak to work first. Still haven't found the gem of olds yet, still looking. With the snow going I can start fishing for some. Just hope this year will be a good year. Catch you later and take care of them Olds.

Nice to be home again

I'm back.....

Looks like it's been purty busy here whilst I was away. The trip to the island was just what I needed. Some time to get away from everything. My wife took along her iPad because she's addicted to the solitaire games on it. She hands it to me on Thursday and says 'Here - check out your classic oldsmobile site". I clicked the link and found out I was still signed in. That 'remember me' feature seems to work all too well. Could have sworn I logged out last humpday evening. I logged off and handed it back. I really wanted a break from all the electronics I've been playing with lately. FWIW, I did miss y'all.

John - Please accept my belated condolences on your Aunt Jean. From what I've read over time she meant a lot to you; and I know you'll find the right words to say tomorrow. I'm sure she'll be smiling down at you as you speak to the congregation.

Jim - Ah luuuvvvvvvs paintin. Gimme a brush and I'm dere witcha bro! Ya'll jes has ta show me howsit dun a bit first. After I be dun wit dem fence bords, I be havin mor paint on me den dey will. Hope y'all got de kind dat washes off wit water. By de way. Rake? Hoe? who cares?? Hav y'all bin raked over by a hoe??

Scot - Sorry to hear your swap meet didn't turn ya into a zillionaire. Next time y'all shouldn't be settin at de tables wearin only speedos....

Mike - You were bang on! The low Saturn did just fine. Used about a quart of oil in just over 1700 miles, but it also has a leak somewhere. Averaged a little over 39 mpg and avg hiway speed of about 70 mph. Not bad for a little 18 yr old 4 banger. Good thing the w/w work, it rained and snowed most of the trip there and back. Island time was mostly nice 70° and beautimus.

Sandy - Keep on truckin girl! What you're going through now sort of sounds like 'always darkest before the storm'. Hopefully things start improving. Double mastectomy doesn't sound like fun, but also sounds like your mind's made up. Can't imagine what a tough time and decision making process you're going through.

Clint - We all knew that JRT was full of something. You just confirmed our suspicions... So what car did your client buy?? Didn't see that posted - musta missed it. Enjoy your trip. Get back safe and sound. Looks like your shop is full of quads needing rebuilds. Tori got some good mileage out of that one. Nothing to sneeze at lasting 8 years without major work. BTW, that Chinese restaurant vid was priceless. Sometimes I wonder how most of the Chinese peeps who work there stay so skinny....oh yeah 'Eat veggies'...LOL

Kyle - I see you found this group! They're a lot of fun when they're not being serious aren't they? We need more Canucks here to balance things out. So far it's just you, Paul and me. Used to have Wolfman but he hasn't even been on CO since July of 2012; he was having health issues.

Mornin all.

Allan, Glad you had a good time. and glad you're back Luckly I don't have to rush now to get Tori's running. This Sundays race has been postponed a coupla weeks. The guy is buying the Astro-blue 70 Vert that's on e-bay.

Kyle again welcome to the loop. So let me understand, you re in search of an Olds? Are you looking for a project? There is a 76 442 locally here for $1000. Needs a full resto, but isn't a rusty rocket. this weekend won't be a good one to look at it tho. We are gonna get dumped on this Sunday. They are calling for 3-6"

Jamesbo, don't you have the compound surrounded in white vinyl fencing? thats the only way to go. Otherwise once you finally get done painting from one end to the other, it's time to start over.

Mike, What year F-85?

John, You know my lack of sleep schedule I'd be happy if I could give you the worm everyday. I'm sure the services will be lovely.

Sandy, You have a good weekend and that's an order missy!

Johnnyolds Welcome to the thread.

Dan, you melting off at all up there?

Well the MIL's new bull got into quite the perdickament yesterday. The kid called me crying about 2:00 saying he was stuck in the gate and was bleedin. I didn't know what she meant but I hustled over there to find the poor guy with a real problem. Somehow he got his head stuck thru a swinging pipe gate in the bottom 'wrung'. This isn't him, but it show the gate behind and to the right that he was stuck in. His head was stuck between the two bottom pipes in that panel.
Attachment 165112

Well, I didn't know what she meant so I only brought over a bolt cutter and a pair of dykes. That wasn't gonna work. So mil is trying to find a hack saw and he's thrashing and flailing around and finally he falls over and his head pops out. Whew. All I needed to do was show up. So I wonder if he'll try that again. One side of his face is all swollen and he has a huge hematoma under his chin. Looks like he's gonna survive tho.

Have a Friday all. and a great weekend.

Happy Friday everyone.

Allan glad you had a good time. I knew the Saturn would do just fine. Odd you'd choose that car, though, when you have another with better seats.

Clint that car is a 65. I thought, what a great idea buy a running 65 and use parts off this car I can't get around to selling parts off of. Eh.

Thinking about you today John, hope everything goes okay. I'm sure it will.

So I'm a little irritated today. When I was looking for a place in Savannah I sent a lender all the stuff she asked for, and later asked her to send it all back to me because some of it was originals. Two weeks later she says she forgot to take it to FedEx and it's been riding around in her car. So I still don't get anything, she sends me the tracking number and it shows the envelope was delivered two days ago. Well it wasn't to my house. Going through the history, it shows it had the wrong address on it, street and number. Then it shows delievered to a residence. Well, it had my correct street and house number on it, but Atlanta, GA. So there's no telling where it went or who's got it. It wasn't very important stuff, just copies of my bank records and passport, my tax returns with my social security number on them.

Okay gotta get this day going. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Morning clan,

Well it's the frickin weekend. I have been on my weekend for 2 and a half weeks.. Thanks for the invite guys. Been floating around the thread for a while.

As for the 76 442, 1000 sounds like a good deal but I have my 77, my 63 starfire and 57 88 which this guy will be forsale or parted out. Before I buy any other projects I need my 77 and 63 fixed first.

Anyone know who works for CN rail or CP rail? Just wondering what the companies are like to work for. Wondering if it would be a good jump from the pipeline. What I made in a month, half this country makes in a year. The money is awesome on the pipeline.Always loved trains, now I have a chance to work with one.I have interviews coming up with both.

Finally seeing grass, my 5 acres in town is a lake right now. Good sign, spring is here. Getting the itch to build my garage but just alot up in the air at the moment.

Anyways enough of yapping, I will fill you in tomorrow about Kelvin. Have a great day guys. Peace

Happy end of the week day all!

Clint - hmmmm, 2 days in a row with stories about 'bull'. Son, you're on a roll! So is that blue car a done deal or are you just going to see it before the trigger gets pulled?

Mike - Sorry to hear about the agents screwup. She could end up being sued for not safeguarding your personal identity more carefully. I took the Saturn for 2 reasons. It needed a road trip, and it's cheap to run. The seats aren't that bad, but I sure missed the power of the Sonata.

Kyle - you'll likely be bored working for CN or CP. Their pay isn't all that great, especially compared to what you make now.

Well, got ago to the lab and let them pull some blood for the Doc to have a look see. Lovely, needle time, again.

Well, the snow is 'bout gone around here, just some north where the trees make it harder for the sun to melt. The big lake still has some ice on it, which keeps temps down due to the WSW winds along the lakeshore, that keeps us about 10 degrees cooler than inland like Grand Rapids, in the summer when it's hot, that will keep us cooler, so it's a trade off. Sat./Sun though we have a rain snow mix coming through, overnights will be in the twenty's.

Sheesh, the lineups at the lab are over 3 hours waiting. Not going to stand in line that long. I'll go another time.

Dan - snows mostly gone here too. Unfortunately we still have cooler temps and a lot of wind. Forecast here is for rain/snow too, so no point washing the cars today.

Say, did anyone notice the new CO letterhead on the email notifications? Seems like that's a really recent event?

? I was wondering that myself. The emails from any thread that I have been on, keep appearing in my email, though I have deleted them. For example, if I get the notification to any response here, I will open, read, then delete it. When I get home from work, or log on in the morning, the messages will be there again, as if I never opened or deleted them. Some responses are coming a couple of days after we have posted them, and some are doubled up (the same message twice, listed at the same time).

Blood level's still topped up. Got to the lab and there was a lineup like your DMV. Nope, not waiting there. Went to another one and same thing, so I didn't wait there either. They said I could make a reservation and not have to go through the waiting time like the others. Might have to do that, or go early afternoon when it's not so busy. Bad part is I have to fast for 12 hours before they stick the leaches on me....

WTH? It's friggen snowing here! The weather gods have a nasty and cruel sense of humor.

Yesterday was really windy, which made things feel cooler. Today it's just plain cold.

Any of you notice a change in gas prices in your area? It just jumped 40.5 cents a gallon the day we got back. Yesterday afternoon it dropped by 9 cents, but it's still pricey IMO. I think we're almost the same as Oz in some places where it's over 1.45/liter. Our gal is 4.54 liters, a US gal is only 3.78 liters. Never could figure out why.

Going to Ted's tonight for din din and visit. Looking forward to a great time.

Morning guys and gals

Well something I didn't want to wake up to. Snow Just starting to see grass, now it's all white again. Well you know weather is a great conversation starter. Hope it warms up soon again, get on with spring already.

Monday I will be making a road trip west to find some fill in work untill the pipeline fire's back up again. My Old's addiction is feeling the pinch. lol

Now as for Kelvin, he is doing okay. Has alot of good days now, the odd bad day. The pain is managed now, he can run, jump and play most days. Taking 8 pills a day and a needle once a week for 2 years. He received a second cortisone shot in his right ankle last week. This time they didn't have to pull fluid out, thank god. 8 joints are affected, whether it will spread more not sure. Lot's of trips to the doctors now, blood work every 2 weeks, physio. My wife did an awesome job when I was gone, even the doctors commend her on the job she did.

Thank god we did what we did and didn't wait for health care system to kick in, could of been in really bad shape if we waited longer. Could affect the eyes, heart and stomach. We caught it in time. Now just an appeal with Manitoba Health to help pay for the trip to Mayo. This is coming up soon, shall be interesting

Anyways enough of gabbing along, have a great day clan. Cheers

Kyle - LOL like we both live in Canada and don't know what snow is.....or when it'll show up.

Very glad to hear Kelvin is doing much better. You planning to head back to Cold Lake area again?

Dan - I tried going in once at lunch time, but it seems that a lot of folks here seem to budget trying to squeeze in their lab work right about then too. I think the trick is somewhere around 2:00 pm. The lab here closes at 3:00 so I need to find that 'happy spot' timing. For Jim it would be the 'sweet spot', but when it comes to needles there just isn't anything sweet about it IMO.

Cold Lake is done for now, have to wait till the ditch settle's and then go back to clean up. As for the next job, sounds to be either Rosetown SK or Fort St. John BC. I will find out soon I hope.

Yup, Fort Mac is like the manna of BC. Bring LOTS of cash because you're gonna need it. Your house and lot in Ste Rose would cost several million up there. Heck you could subdivide that land and live like a king for the rest of your life the way the housing market up there is so stupid.

Hey everyone.

Nice day, about 80. So why does it seem so cold in the house? Beautiful sunny day.

So the FedEx debacle continues. I called FedEx and they said their auto-correct found a zip code in Atlanta that had my address and sent my envelope there. Luckily, whoever got it called and said it wasn't theirs, so FedEx went and picked it back up. The guy I talked to let slip out the zip code it went to, and boy howdy, I should be living there. The house with my address in that zip code is about a 700K home. Anyway I called today to find out why it isn't at my house now, and he said it's going back to the sender in Savannah, as only the sender can make changes to the address. So I called the lender woman. She said she's "appalled" by all of this, blamed it on her assistant, and was going to call FedEx right away and make the change so it comes to me on Monday instead of being shipped back to her. Sheesh.

Kyle glad Kelvin is getting along. More good days than bad is a good thing. Good luck with the temp duty, how long do you have to be away from home?

Allan gas went up to 3.50 here and then came down an astounding 1 cent. It was at 3.20-something for the longest time. No good reason for it.

Work tonight. After this three I'm off ten again. I needed to take 2 off for my trip to California, so I figured what was the point of working one day. So I plan to get a lot of things done around here, I'm really going to focus. I might take a short trip or two just because.

Hope everyone's weekend is going well. Sandy the car looks great.

Evening all!

I'm still here Jamesbo! We had a beautiful day here with temps in the high 70's and sun!!! This is what we've been waiting for. Supposed to be cloudy and around 77 tomorrow with rain chances. Cold again next week though.

So I saw Dr. Rehmus yesterday and SHE stopped the chemo!!!!!! I didn't have to do it. She didn't like what it's doing to my feet (again, I'd hate to see my insides if my outside looks this bad). She said the only thing she could do at this point is lower the dose by 25% and then she would have to wonder if the benefit would be worth it, and she didn't think it would be. I told her how quick this last dose hit me and how I still couldn't drink anything as of yesterday, which means I'm only going potty like once in 14 hours, and that is not good for the kidneys. So when she said she'd stop it, it was music to my ears! I really think that if I had to have one more dose, my organs would have shut down.

She put me on a hormone blocker... side effects of this pill aren't pretty either. She said she had to do it because my tumor did respond to estrogen though it was weak. So again I'm wondering why I am told I have triple negative cancer and was treated for triple negative when it did respond to estrogen and now I have to take a pill to block estrogen?? I don't get it.....

I will ask Dr. Smith on Monday when I see him. He's the only one I trust anyhow.

So I am happy!!! I kind of had a meltdown yesterday when she told me and I cried and cried. When Larry and I got home from her office, there was a bunch of flowers outside the door for me, beautiful stargazer lilies from my sister Jean and her son David! I was so surprised! Made me cry even more cause they really couldn't afford to do that and I appreciated it so much. I called her and thanked her while crying and blubbering, lol. She said I just sounded so awful on Tuesday when we talked that she just wanted to cheer me up. It was a great day!!

My heartfelt thanks go out to each and everyone of you guys too for being here for me through this and giving me words of encouragement, for listening to me rant and rave and be depressed, for the cards that made me laugh and smile, for just putting up with me. I love you all!!

I have a long way to go yet, and I know I face a lot more pain and frustration, so I'm not done complaining and bitch*ing yet. Hope you'll continue to put up with me.

Teepo came out of storage today and we took ourselves a 26 mile cruise! Just what the doctor ordered, lol. Nothing like that old car smell to cure what ails you! She ran good, no problems or leaks or anything. I did have to add a pint of tranny fluid when we got home. Damned leak.

I could hardly walk when I got out of her. My feet. Driving must not be good for my feet. They just burned and were so red. Still are. This is very miserable. Dr. Rehmus said it will go away eventually. Who knows how long that will be. Ankles are swelled too. But I sure did enjoy that cruise!

I was busy all day. Cleaned out the breezeway. Moved the flowers back outside - at least for a few days until it gets cold again - and swept good out there and just cleaned up. Did laundry. Moved my swing back over to the sunny side of the deck again. Cleaned up some of the flower beds. Larry trimmed the grape vines and cut down the pampas grasses. I wanted to take Tincanio to the car wash but my feet were throbbing. I only have one pair of sandals that don't rub any of the sore red spots on my feet and they're not real comfy ones unfortunately. So I soaked in the tub instead lol. Didn't really help my feet much though.

I am able to drink again!!! Been guzzling water like a crazy person. I was also able to eat some steak Larry grilled and some corn and a little bit of my sweet potato! It tasted alright. Not delicious, but edible. What a wonderful thing!

I'm not starting that hormone blocker pill until next Saturday. I am giving myself a week of freedom from any friggin medications going into my body!! I am so tired of having chemicals in my body.

Well I'm pretty tired so I'm going to get off of here. Talk to you tomorrow.
