Good morning everyone.

Made it in no problems this morning. Except Mom was awake when I dropped off the dog and we talked for 10 minutes. I got in the door here right at 4. Hey good is good. The lead said we were going to build 100 wheels today and 175 on Monday. He said it like it was our punishment for not putting out a lot the last couple weeks. Hey that wasn't our doing. Good luck with 175 when we haven't been able to crack 120.

Cloudy this morning but not raining. Don't know what it's supposed to do. I miss summer. Sorry Kenneth.

I had Bananas Foster last night. But I left out the bananas. Yick.

Okay things are finally starting to pick up a little. The lead should be bringing breakfast in the next little while. Hope everyone has a good day and a good weekend.

Good morning guys,

It's been raining on and off here since yesterday afternoon. The Car Show I had planned to go to today was postponed yesterday to it's rain date of next Saturday, so no car events this weekend because there's nothing reasonably close to me tomorrow. We're supposed to continue to get scattered showers throughout the rest of today.

My wife hopefully got the last piece of the Motorhome refresh project done yesterday and she's praying her Brother and SIL are now satisfied, I am too! We got invited to a party tonight by the guy who worked on my car. My wife doesn't really want to go because she's not excited about listening to guys talk cars all evening and she won't know anyone there. Plus, it's been a hectic week and she just wants a break to rest. I don't blame her and I get it. Even though she's told me she doesn't mind if I go, I'm on the fence as to whether I want to go by myself?

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Norm I think this is the closest to reality. We reached our goal of 100 around 930. He said keep building for Monday. So we said, let's keep signing and then not do as many on Monday. Nope, can't do that. I can't figure out what he gains by having things in turmoil all the time.

Thanks Chris. We'll be here until almost 12. Gonna do chores and get some things done for next weekend. Go to the guy's party. If everyone else there brings their wives and it's weird then leave. Chances are there will be other wives there who don't want to talk cars and they can all form their own group and talk about something else. Go there in the 442 that will please him.

So here is something I should know but I don't. Is upgrading the weight bearing ability of a truck as simple as adding another leaf to the springs? I want to buy a P30 Stepvan but I want to build ramps so I can get a car in it. A P30 is a 1-ton chassis, but a car weighs more than a ton. What's a guy to do?

Think I'll take a walk. Sitting here I'll just fall asleep and that wouldn't be good. Been a good morning. Had two good wall guys. The robot guy is good on the robot but he's a jerk. Glad I don't have to talk to him.

Years ago I was on the list to transfer to Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. It was during the layoffs and they said if you were called to your station and you didn't go you were fired. Not laid off, fired. They gave two weeks. At the time I had an old dog and a house to get rid of and a bunch of cars and I couldn't have made that big of a move in two weeks. So I called and took my name off the list. Was sad about it for a long time.

I'd want it to rain on Halloween. And 4th of July too but any fireworks people couldn't shoot off they'd just do it when the weather cleared up.

Mike, you made the right decision. The traffic getting to Sky Harbor is ridiculous, as is driving in most of Phoenix. This place is overcrowded and it’s getting worse every year. I can’t wait to get out.

Kenneth this was about 20 years ago. Phoenix was really sort of arbitrary, I'd driven through but never spent any real time there. I like hot and dry, maybe not like that, but what did I know. I also had my name on the Orlando list. Mom lived in Avon Park, which is not too far from MCO, and one day I got a notice from the transfer people. I was going to get my transfer. So I called Mom and said guess what, I'm moving to Orlando. She said really because I'm moving back to Illinois. Sheesh. So I called and took my name off that list. The woman said are you sure? No one has ever taken their name off the Orlando list before.

That’s around when I moved here. I was in sticker shock at housing prices - I moved from an area where a 1700 sq ft house on 3 acres was $117k, and here in Phoenix a 1500 sq ft house on a 7500 sq ft lot was $150k+. While I was shocked at how expensive it was here, all the folks I met moving from Chicago and the PNW were amazed at how cheap it was. Now that same house on a 7500 sq ft lot is over $500k.

More business in Scottsdale this week. Back home now. Phoenix Sky Harbor is a busy damn place. Planes, trains, and automobiles to get back to the Evil. Bounced through Dallas both ways. Flew first class this time so I hopefully don't get a cold like I did on the way back last time. I hope we got a little rain while I was gone the latter half of this week.

I have come to really appreciate DFW. It’s easy to get around the terminals and the restaurants don’t treat you as a captive audience and rip you off. I’ve had a lot of positive experiences there.

Hi everyone.

Just got back from Walmart. It wasn't too bad but there was someone there who smoked bad pot. Smelled like a skunk. I didn't know who it was but the whole store smelled like it. Yuck.

Dan those were nice pictures. I'd say my favorite has to be the winged car. Close second the supercharged Ford.

John you probably know this but the outflow valve on an airplane is in the back. So when the air conditioning pressurizes the plane, the excess flows to the valve. So in flight, all the air goes from the front to the back and everyone in the back is breathing all the funk from the other 100+ people as it flows past them. On some wide bodies there's an outflow valve amidship. I've been to Dallas one time, never got off the plane.

My Grandma loved Hee Haw. She hated Buck Owens but watched it all the time. That and Lawrence Welk. I think one followed the other. When I lived in the apartment the ancient old lady down stairs had a grand daughter who was one of the beauties on Hee Haw. No it wasn't Lulu Roman.

Kenneth are you planning on going back to New Orleans? Get a place north of the lake, they don't seem to be affected as much by hurricanes.

Okay. Took my groceries home and got the laundry going. Gonna move some stuff from Mom's to my house this afternoon before I go get a pizza for our supper. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Mike, the wife wants a place where it’s not cold, doesn’t have high humidity, and doesn’t have mosquitoes. Sounds like we’ll be moving to Arizona.

I've yet to see a Hemi, 4-speed in the wild. 2nd favorite is the maroon Charger R/T Hemi, and 3rd is the orange W-30. Could you tell if the W-30 was a real W-30? From my picks you'd think if I ever get to point where I start looking for a 2nd car I'd be looking for a Mopar product, and there are many models that would be at the top of my wish list.

I did not know that, Mike, but it makes sense. I was front row, this time, all 4 flights. I may have to do this in the future. I avoid flying as much as I can, these will hopefully be the only flights this year, and I only had one trip last year. It's no so much the planes, I like flying itself and seeing things from the sky and harnessing physics for the betterment of man, but I hate crowds, check in, baggage restrictions, arrogant yet simultaneously stupid TSA, boarding hierarchy and overhead bin competition, being packed in too close for multiple hours, and sitting on my *** for hours at a time.

I did read a lot of novels. I used to burn through about 50 or more a year, but now it is more like 15. A lot of this is that I will browse my phone on the internet instead of reading before sleeping. I finished one novel, read another, and bought a third from a used record store that I got a good start on. These authors are John Sanford and Carl Hiassen; I particularly enjoy fiction written by former newspapermen as they wield the English language as a weapon.

Chris whenever you're ready for a MOPAR I'll bring over a Valiant!

Kenneth is New Mexico the same as Arizona? If I were to move out west these days, it would be Nevada. I really like Reno and the surrounding areas. It snows up in the mountains but I don't think it gets dreadfully cold.

John that's why we drove up to Illinois a couple weeks ago. The airport is such a pain, and Mom not getting around well just makes it that much more of a challenge. She doesn't need that. Too bad, Moline airport is a breeze. It's Atlanta that's a disaster.

I think this week will go quick. I have way more things to do than I have time for, to get ready for company. Eh, I'll do what I can. I don't expect anything earth-shattering at work this week. Just the lead trying to make us feel bad. Maybe if he were a better lead we'd be a better crew.

Chris the Superbird was a 440 with the 4spd. pistol grip shifter. The Rallye Red W30 is a clone. One of my favorites was the black Satellite with the white top. A Hemi car with a four speed. It just rolled past 22,000 miles. The the guy that owns it has had it since 1974.
