Car show in Zeeland, Mi. yesterday. A little humid, but a nice day overall. Used my phone as somebody left both camera batteries out after recharging them Unfortunately, no fire trucks. https://photos.app.goo.gl/26QVgEoMQvPSeyVm8

Dan - Lots of really unique & nice cars all of which have talking points. My Dad had a 1964 Buick Wildcat convertible (I learned to drive with) - the one in your batch is a 1965 and brings back memories. Thanks for sharing the spread.

Dan had already indicated there were no fire trucks.

Finding that ground wire culprit to my JD ZTR absolutely made my day. I had anticipated a lengthy diagnostics/troubleshooting/tear-down disassembly, head-scratching scenario. Freed up my entire day & removed all anxiety.

Nice pics Dan, thanks for sharing, despite the fact there's no fire trucks. My favorite was the purple Challenger until I saw it had a transplanted modern Hemi in it. My next favorite is the red Impala SS, I'm a fan of the 65 - 67 SS's. I came very close to buying a '65 396ci, 4-speed Impala SS before I bought my 4-4-2. It was white with turquoise interior, just beautiful. Definitely one I let get away, with much dismay.

Oh come on Normie, that's not true.

Finished work this morning before 9. Sat being bored out of my mind for 2 1/2 hours. Came home and did the Walmart lunacy. We were quite a bit later than usual and there were plenty of lunatics. Then I got the rest of everything out of the blue van and into the basement.

Nice pictures Dan. My favorite of the bunch is the Volkswagen.

No work tomorrow so I get to stay up late. I'll probably fall asleep in my recliner. Eh, who cars. No work tomorrow.

Good day today as it cooled down and was only 109 degrees. Yeah!

I mowed the grass at 7 am while it was in the 90s, then walked the dogs, then relaxed in the pool with the wife for a while. Water temp was 90 degrees.

Once it warmed up, retreated indoors and watched movies for a while. Then had to do something about the stinky dogs who have been marinating in the hot sun all week. Changed the odor from “stinky dog” to “wet dog”. Not sure if that’s an improvement.

Another great singer/songwriter has passed. Dave Loggins, forever known for his hit Please Come to Boston, passed on July 10th. He was a prolific songwriter, writing hits for many other artists like Ray Charles, Kenny Rogers, Reba McEntire, Smokey Robinson, Johnny Cash, and several other prominent artists. RIP Dave!

Hi guys - Not in Kenneth territory, but brutal heat today, 100° actual, 109° Heat Index. Suppossed to be some more rain coming in tomorrow and Wednesday, and then cooler temps in the mid-80's later in the week which will be nice. Hope everyone has a great day.

Norm - It's probably not a show my wife would enjoy, but I'm sure I would. I'll check it out soon. You said it's on Netflix, correct?

Netflix, yes. Actually, your wife might be interested. It's more of a chronological documentary beginning w/ Oppenheimer through today's involvement in Ukraine. Released March, 2024.

Thanks! I will at the very least try and get her to watch the 1st episode. I probably let her pick 80% of the movies we watch, so she owes me!

Did I mention that I washed the dogs yesterday? Well last night around 11pm a thunderstorm parked on top of us, with intense lightning and thunder. I woke up to thunder booming and the freshly washed girl dog running around the back yard in pouring rain, barking at the wind and thunder. Some days it just doesn't pay to do any work at all.

Maybe she felt like you didn't rinse her well enough and she decided to do it herself!

Hi everyone.

Had a great day playing hooky. Slept late, 830, ran a couple errands, went to Awful house, came over and helped Mom do some housework. I didn't go to the cruise in tonight, it's been cloudy and threats of rain. They cancel that show at the drop of a hat, so I didn't want to drive over there and have it not going.

So my friend at the Awful house had trouble breathing a while ago, and went for a chest Xray. They found spots on his lung. He had a CT scan over the weekend and they EMAILED him the results. How crass. A bunch of mumbo jumbo but one very bad word, malignant. I think that says it all. He didn't seem too bent about it, but he is frustrated that he can't get ahold of anyone to ask questions. I feel bad. They said it's early stages so maybe he can beat it.

Chris I had this whole schpeel in my head I was going to send you. I'd decided not to buy a 67 because I wanted to get a trailer and build a shop. I'd be money ahead with a nice big garage so I could store things and have a nice covered work space. And then you had to comment on that guy who just bought a 442 and all my feels of needing a 67 442 came flying back!! Curses! I still think about Dr. Dan's car but he's long done with me.

Kenneth I need to give Tiger a bath. It's been a couple years. I used to not be able to lift him into the tub, but I haven't tried since I had my surgery so maybe I can do it now. He loves it. He bites at the bubbles and when I lift him out he runs around the yard and then jumps back in the water.

Okay short week. I say short, we're probably working both days this weekend. But I'm off all next week so that works.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

I like movies which are entertaining. The movie is enjoyable & entertaining. I'm 1/2-way through it - 2 hrs in length. Based on true story.
Noteworthies: Dennis Quaid, Cheech Marin, Gillian Vigman, Oscar Nuñez.
Released in USA April 12, 2024.
Made it's 1st debut on Netflix three days ago, July 12, 2024.

The cars alone in the movie are great.

Mike - Glad I could help you get your mind right!

So sorry to hear about your friend. Like you said, hopefully he can beat it since they caught it early.

Chris, I would love it if our temperatures dropped to the low 100s. This 110+ stuff is brutal and has been going on for far too long! Heck, we were happy as can be with the cool down to 109.

Dental app't @ 8:00am, tee-time @ 12:00noon (will be brutal, Heat Index 103°F). Likely last day to play for some time - next 13 days demonstrate scattered thunderstorms (60% - 90%) daily. That time of year.

Yeah, it's all relative. I thought 95º with 60% humidity in SW Louisiana last month was quite nice.

Kenneth - You'll get no argument here, I don't know how you stand those temps for that many months in a row. I'm pretty sure I'd be looking at every opportunity out there to relocate.

Indeed, it is. Sweltering & oppressive here today, 93°F, 87% humidity, H.I. 103°F. Current humidity = 88%. Those numbers are most likely closer aligned to your swimming pool.

Norm, with that temperature and humidity your H.I. would be 133 degrees per the NWS calculator.

You appear to be reporting max temperature and max humidity, which don’t occur at the same time. As you know, humidity and temperature are inversely proportional. The NWS site shows that with 93F temperature and 103 heat index, the RH would be a bit over 50%, which is comparable to what I experienced in SW LA.

Therein may be the issue. The equation you posted employs RH while the humidity I posted was absolute humidity.
