The *NEW* Good Morning Thread!
Keith - I just watched the latest video on the Weather & Sky thread. It sure has been an active, to say the least, weather pattern here in the Midwest for the past 2-months. I feel lucky to have dodged any damage so far. Looks like another possible ugly day coming on Sunday. Just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. Appreciate you posting the informative info!
Good morning everyone.
Well here it is Saturday and I'm at work. There can't be a dozen people here, and I heard 26 signed up. Hm. Guys that stayed late yesterday put out 65 wheels, which is more than half of what we're doing today. Not sure we're going to make it, though.
Gonna be nice today, so lots of outside stuff. I went to Home Depot the other day to get a few things, and they've done away with cashiers. It's all self check. I'm patently against that so I left. What do people do who have a flatbed card full of lumber or cement mix? I'm sure I wouldn't lift a pallet full of cement mix up to the scanner and then have the machine tell me to put it in a bag.
Never passed a kidney stone, but I have had gall stone pain. That pain is so bad sometimes it would make me sick. I'd have an attack several times a year for years, and then it stopped. My suggestion to you is if you have the opportunity to have gall stone pain, pass on it.
I guess I'll soldier on, with a wheel here and there. I'm headed to Awful house afterward. Hope everyone has a great long weekend.

Took flowers to the cemetary today, and cleaned the marker up a bit. I usually bring a whisk broom, as the marker is flush with the ground, and therefore gets debris in the lettering and etchings. I initially could not find the whisk broom when looking for it yesterday, so I figured I'd get one at Meijer's when getting my groceries. No luck. Stopped at Advanced Auto, and asked if they had any, and was met with a confused look from the counter kid. Hmm, a generational thing, and no they did not have one. I had the same response at Auto Zone. Another implement lost to the ages apparently. I did eventually find the one that I have, by the '69 of course. Time to water some flowers and kill some weeds.
Ah break time. We left work at 1130, after sitting for two hours. The lead said if we didn't take lunch we could leave. Brilliant. Who's gonna say sure I took lunch and then sit there by themselves for a half hour.
Stopped at Awful house and came home and got some laundry started. Tried to take the pins out of the blue van's hood, and they get bound up by bodywork. Last trick is to see if I can reach it through the doghouse. After that we get the ziz wheel.
Dan that's funny. My Grandmother always had a whisk broom in the trunk of the car. I have that car now and the whisk broom is still there. There's a lot of things people don't know these days and it irritates me. Like the counter boy at the auto parts store who said, who makes Plymouth?
At barely a month into my new car, I still have the itch to buy something. I'll confess that after I publicly denounced Dan's 442 convertible, I had second thoughts and called him back. I was going to take money to buy it, but the credit union had unreasonable demands. Dan was very good about it and got me copies of the title and even wrote out a "bill of sale" even though I hadn't given him any money. Well, it wasn't good enough and the CU wanted this and this and this and I told Dan and he said he'd see what he could do. That's the last I heard from him. I'm guessing he either thought I was a fake or flakey. I don't blame him. I could call him back but it would be the same thing all over again. So I don't know. I've wanted an Impala SS for years and saw what I thought would be a good one, but when I talked to the guy the car sounded trashed beyond belief. The only other car I've seen that I like is a 1926 Graham Paige. Can't wait to ask the CU about that one.
Okay the sun is out. It was raining when I left work. I could try to salvage the rest of the afternoon working outside, or I could go to Mom's and paint some more. I'm almost done there, then I get to pick a new project.

Keith - I guess I missed it somewhere or you didn't tell us on this thread you are selling your '62 Cutlass. That's a fine car.
Question: Does a 1962 Cutlass have an alternator or a generator in it?

I was looking on CL and had seen this post a while back and wondered if it had sold. I went on today and it looks like it was refreshed or reposted.
I was just passing this on for others to drool over, as stated Not Mine

The Grilled peaches were good. I’d like to throw mine in a bowl of vanilla ice cream.
I tried it plain but she put feta cheese and walnuts on them and drizzled honey over the top of the rest.
That’s a bit fancy for me but just plain they were good.

My Dad was all Buick. I remember his 1959 Buick Invicta Wagon, 1961 Buick LeSabre, 1964 Buick Wildcat Convertible, 1969 Buick Electra 225 & the 1971 Buick Electra 225. Dad had a cousin, Urban Raef. Urban's wife's name was Beaula. Everyone called Beaula by her nickname "Buick". She only owned Buick cars, as well.

How cool Buicks were in the day. Neat story, nice family memories and history.
The only thing I can think is, without any disrespect for Dads cousin Reaf is Beaula must have built for comfort.
Nice, what else can a person ask for

What a sled.Kinda reminds me of my ole 69 Ninety Eight drop top. As a kid I bet you and the family had some smiles to the gallon in that rig.
Whoops that's an 64 Electra... Here is a Wildcat...https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds...t/2627915.html

Looks like the ooni is 1600w so a 15a circuit would be ok. I wired my kitchen 10yrs or so ago and all the recepts and wiring are 20a. If that 240v model was a candidate I would have to wire a new circuit and recept. Pretty easy the panel is right below the Kitchen open joist.
Those ovens look like they would be fun to play with

Good morning guys,
Started storming about 4am this morning with alot of thunder/lightning and heavy rain.. Monty got up and went to his "Safe Room", the hallway bathroom. It's the only room totally interior to the home, so it's more insulated from the thunder. We're supposed to have waves of storms throughout the day.
I think I already mentioned the Car Show that was originally scheduled for today was moved to tomorrow. I'm still planning on going if the weather clears like it's supposed to.
Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend.

I was late to the game preparing for Memorial weekend. These days I don't plan or attend activities - they've pretty much run their course for me in the many Memorial weekends of prior years. So, I pretty much like to resolve myself to taking it easy, instead. I did manage to grab the classics this morning - hot dogs, beef, potato salad & buns. I'll fire up one of the Weber grills & have at it this afternoon sometime.
Norm - Sounds like a nice relaxing way to spend the rest of the weekend.
I didn't realize it until I got an automated message from the company that monitors Monty's and Maggie's microchips. Our Maggie Mae is 6 today. Man it sure doesn't seem like she can be 6, but hardly anything else time related does anymore either. The end of this month it will be 6-years since I retired, that sure doesn't seem possible either! Time is a crazy entity.

In order to keep track of my dogs, each has a Contact entry on my phone with name, birth date, microchip number, and AKC lost pet registration number. There’s no way I would remember all that information.
