Miles per year
Hi everyone, I've only put on a few hundred miles each year I have owned my Cutlass but plan to use it much more in the future. That made me wonder how many miles you guys put on your Oldsmobiles each year.

About 2K per year. I always say I'm going to drive it more, but I never do.

I only put around 300 to 700 miles a year on mine but that should change now. They rocked out roads about 9 years ago and just last year finely re-paved them. I plan to drive them much more now but even then I will not likely drive them more than 2000 miles a year.

I would guess about 1000 - 2000 per year depending on how many shows/cruises I attend. 95% of my driving is to the shows/cruises which two are at the beach and one in the mountains. I should but currently don't joy ride mine much around town. Maybe once I get the 'vert finished...

I have put a little over 200k on my car since I bought it when I was 17 (back in 1989)I drove it to school in Dayton, Ohio, every week for 2 years. It was my daily driver until I got a 2nd car around 93. Since then, the most I have driven it in a year was probably 6K when the wife and I did Power Tour, and later that and year did Drag Week.

On my '67 Delta 88, an average of 261 per year. I keep mileage records, as I'm sure many do, when I do maintenance. I bought the car in June 2009. I did the first oil change on September 15, 2009. Mileage was 129,170. The most recent oil change was done on May 30 of last year (I usually do only one or two oil changes a year on it). Mileage was 131,443. Between 9/15/09 and 5/30/18 was 3180 days or 8.71 years. Mileage in that time was 2,273, so that comes out to 261.0 miles per year.
On the '73 Custom Cruiser I owned from January 2010 to December 2014, between January 22, 2010, when I bought the car and it had 102,599 on the odometer, and the last oil change I did before selling it on February 14, 2014 and it had 109,695 on the odometer, I put 7,096 miles on it over a span of 1,483 days. That comes to 1,747 miles per year in the time I owned it.
On the '75 Delta 88 I owned from March 1994 to August 2001, between the first oil change I did (5/1/94; 97,480 mileage) and the last oil change (5/5/01; 113,166), I put 15,686 miles on it over a span of 2,562 days. That comes to 2,236 miles per year.
On the '64 Jetstar 88 I owned from August 1991 to November 1995, I put 13,779 miles on it over a span of 1,540 days. That's 3,268 miles per year.
Finally, my other current car, a '78 Toronado, had 86,519 showing on the odometer when I did the first oil change on it on 3/1/17. As of today, 2/24/19, it has 87,911 miles on it. That's 1,392 miles in 726 days, or 700 miles per year.
Summary:
1964 Jetstar 88: 3,268 miles per year
1967 Delta 88: 261
1973 Custom Cruiser: 1,747
1975 Delta 88: 2,236
1978 Toronado: 700
Quite a bit of variability there. I did use the Jetstar and the Custom Cruiser somewhat as daily drivers for a while when owned them, and I also drove the CC from Ohio to New Mexico when we relocated here in 2012, so that added lots of miles all at once. I had the '67 Delta shipped here. The '75 Delta I was a bit more active with in taking it to car shows a bit further from home than usual.

Our summer is so short up here in Canada. I often want to get out on a Friday night or Saturday afternoon after work and just go for a cruise. However, I often find that I'm too tired to go out to the garage, pull the cover off and just go. My brain begins talking to me haha, the need to clean it up after a cruise, a power wash, wipe dry, spray wax, then put the cover back on for the next cruise often changes my mind after a long work week. I'm tired very much of the time, afternoon naps have been the norm since I hit 50 it seems.
My wife and I do try to take it out at least once a month on a Friday night to go to dinner and a nice evening cruise, then a Saturday afternoon- evening drive. Sundays are just a relaxing day at the beach or playing 9 holes depending on how hot the day is.
I hope we can enjoy our cars much more as we work towards semi-retirement. In the next year or two, we plan to do alot of cursing, enjoying more car shows and travelling to Grand Bend Drag strip, along with Sparta and Cayuga. That's the dream plan at the moment.
However, to make that happen I have to cut my working hours way back to get the extra energy boost needed.
We put on average 800- 1200 easy miles on our Olds over the years.
My wife and I do try to take it out at least once a month on a Friday night to go to dinner and a nice evening cruise, then a Saturday afternoon- evening drive. Sundays are just a relaxing day at the beach or playing 9 holes depending on how hot the day is.

I've only had my '95 Cutlass Convertible for about seven months, but I've already put about 1,000 miles on it. If I keep driving it at that rate--and assuming the car gets a little more use in the summer months--it should see about 2,000 miles a year. Of course, there is also the possibility that over time, the novelty will wear off and it will see less use. It's just hard to tell which way it will go.

I haven't my 72 Supreme a year yet, but since I bought it in June of last year, I've put just north of 3K on the clock, including a 300+ mile round trip trek to the Endless Summer Cruise in Ocean City MD. I also drive it to work at least twice a month, and that's a 50 mile round trip.
