Image Hosting

http://picasaweb.google.com/ It's free and it holds 15360 MB without paying for upgrades to hold more. That's more than I'll ever use. For my other pictures that do not need a URL I use Picasa 3.

Tinypic doesn't keep your images forever. Sooner or later, they pull the plug. Imageshack sux too. I use Photobucket, despite occasionally disappearing pics.
On some forums, you can upload a pic to a reply window and the click on preview. As soon as the pic shows up, just copy the image adress and post it here. Afterwards, click on the host's return arrow. Some hosts never keep track and some eventually pull the plug, for some reason

Flickr is another one. I like imgur.com, but thats more for just temporary, "I need a place to upload a picture and share" kind of thing. I think if its not viewed at least once a month they purge it. But its quick, simple, easy to use. I use it for posting pictures on forums.

It might be pretty unknown to most ... but I like :
http://www.use.com/about2.html
It's free - simple to use - easy to manage.
No limit on the amount of pix or the file sizes.
And for the moment ... you can keep any social media integration in check & keep things as private as you wish.
(I don't care for having such things are forced upon me)
They did have a site-wide glitch awhile back, but they were on it quickly & even responded to my issue within 24 hours IIRC ... in clear coherent English with correct grammar & punctuation, which is almost unheard of when dealing with a free service, let alone many pay services these days.
Trying to get away from using anything Google based (Picassa) when possible.
And Flickr has been made one hell of a mess by Yahoo IMHO.

As soo as the uploaded image appeared, I simply copied and pasted the adress onto a reply window, as I do at Photobucket, and when the image got posted, it was small. Evidently, I didn't look for a hidden function, after the upload

Amen to that. I cannot even browse through them as they want to show them all in large sizes in way too many per page. As a result they take forever to load.
And now they boast free 1TB storage. What the catch is it is that or 200 pics, whatever comes first. I have not loaded anything to them for a long time. And since the dropped the 'pro' accounts, many are still being billed for them.
And after holding my (and everyone elses) yahoo mail accounts hostage until I (we) let them scan every email and distribute the data freely at will, I would not recommend them to anyone. Of course I have seen many others do this, even ISPs...
