Was the Mickey Mouse Club airing at the same time as Sky King, or after?... cause everything took a back seat to Annette back then.

The Oldsketeers Club song, C-L-A...S-S-I...C-O-L-D-S.

Annette was dancing around in her ballerina outfit after school on the MM club and a few years older and surfing with Frankie when we would go to the Drive-In, I think I was watching reruns.
Sky King was my Hero, Fury the Horse was a close second, I had a thing for the Songbird and the station wagon with the Flying Crown ranch logo on the doors.
Smarter than human animals were always big back then, Mr. Ed could even talk. I liked Wilbur's wife on Mr. Ed, she was way-way too hot for him, and didn't have a mustache like Annette.

The first one I saw "Dr. NO"

To be perfectly honest, I had a crush on all the Bond girls. I wanted to be a double "O" spy just for the action. I kept looking at match book covers to see if there was a Double "O" school but couldn't find one.

Miss Galore was another one of my favorites

My first TV crush was on Rachel Welch in the movie 1,000,000 years BC. Anybody else remember that movie? Saw a pic of her as she was around 5 years ago and I think she is still hot.

Being born and raised in the Motor City, cars is all I have known. Lived a block off of Woodward Ave. Got my license in dads 66 Olds 88. Bought my first car at 15 a 62 Chevy Belair, Paid $65 for it, and thouht I had spent a fortune. Was just a 283 with a powerglide but it had a big backseat. Didn't take to long of getting beat on Woodward, Gratiot and Telegraph, that I traded it in on a 1971 Chevelle SS 454 4spd. Was alot more fun crusin in the chevelle. Would cruise thru the drive-ins, and it was a sure bet someone would follow you out for a race. Dad, to this day says Commander Cody wrote his Song Hot Rod Lincolin just for him. Oh the good old days. Now I got the cutlass and live here on the coast of NC, and wish at times I was back there so I could cruise Woodward, Gratiot and Telegraph in it, no wait a minute it's October 1st, its going to be getting cold and they will be getting that white stuff on the ground before long, so think I had just better keep the Cutlass and myself where we are.

I see we've got some trivia amateurs.

1] What was Sgt Preston's horses name? Yukon King was the dog but in the summer he road a horse

2] Who was the foreman of the Flying Crown Ranch?

3] What was the name of the town in High Noon [Grace Kelly and Gary Cooper]

4] What was the Lone Ranger's nephew name?

Well, I know the answer to #1 as I use to watch the show. His horse was named "Rex".

It takes him a while to wake up but when he does............he's on fire

So that leads us to the question, What was the Lone Rangers real name? [not who played him]

Class o' '69 ...

I was into GTOs' back then, but I did not discriminate ...

Round about 1979 muscle cars started hitting junkyards. 500 HP monsters with master cylinders the size of a walnut. You did not let the old lady drive your souped up car. One reason so few survived...

We had a cop friend that would check out cars that were parked and collecting dirt. He would ticket the f' out of them. They would get impounded by another friend that worked at the local "Pick a Part. He would tell us when they were going to hit the yard. We would be there like a flock of vultures and pick them clean. Posi's, H.O.s', Tilt wheels, rallye packs.rims etc.

It would go something like this. Grab a 4.11 posi for $50 drum to drum, sell it installed to someone with 3.23 peg leg for $200, sell that installed to someone with a low gear posi/pegleg that needed better mileage for $150. Trade that for a four speed. We used to do a four speed conversion for about $400/$500...

Grab a big block for $100 compleat grenade it, grab another one ...

Don Garlits was a "Junk Yard Dog" that would grab Chizzlers put a Blower on them and then grenade them, kind of a supercharged version of us li' leaugers...

The O in GTO stood for options and we would load them on our personal drivers. Electric trunk releases, power windows, Tilt wheels, Bucket seats etc...

I was a regular Dr. Frankenstein . One of my favorite cars was a '68 F-Bird with a chevie 12 bolt, '69 disc brakes, and a '65 Buick all steel 300 h.P. small block with a switch pitch 400 trans, with the switch pitch activated by a High beam foot switch. My friends liked when I would stall it hit the switch and watch the needle on the tac go up and down ...

All I really remember from the 60's was my dads Corvair, Saturday morning cartoons, first Red Ryder bb gun .50 cent gas and Johnny Carson's late show. Did not watch much tv on old black/white rabbit ears set up because reception so poor half the time all you could do was listen anyway.
