Fall Color Pics

Here are some of our trees and ones across the road that are looking so pretty as they're changing colors! Too bad we know what's coming afterward.....

Leavesgoldfinchesdoodle010.jpg

The closest Maple has been dropping leaves since August! It's almost bare already.

The goldfinches are losing their beautiful yellow color and turning back to drab brown.

This fella was eating fallen sunflower seeds, lol! He's lucky Doodle didn't see him!

Doodle stretching and enjoying the sun!!

We don't have the hardwoods around here, Our trees turn yellow.brown and that's it. We have four Japanese maples that do turn pretty colors though.

Thanks for the pictures

Yeah! I darned well know what's coming after - a never ending job raking leaves

Very pretty scenery Sandy, enjoy it while you can. At least your grass is still green. Our Oak tree is just starting to turn. Once it drops its leaves it looks like one of those trees surrounding the haunted mansion! This year it was chock full of acorns. During the last month the birds picked it clean and I had to gather about a 5 gallon pail of the husks off the grass. If I don't the mice will have a field day under the winter SNOW. THERE!!! I said that nasty evil 4 letter word...I feel so ashamed ...and i was doing so well till then....Happy Columbus Day girl!

Autumn is my favorite time of year, and I love the colors, but as always a downside- RAKING LEAVES!

I usually use a leaf blower on them which helps, but pecans have small leaves that get hung up in the grass and just about have to scratch them out with a rake. The elms will blow away easy.

I do enjoy burning leaves though. Just makes it seem like fall when ya do that.

That big orange cat reminds me of the one I had as a kid. His name was "Nehi"- as in "Nehi Orange".

Your place looks beautiful.
We are finally coming into spring and much warmer weather down under, after what seems like a long wet winter.

Crikey mate! Hop on Quantus and find out what winter is really like. I'll expect you around January. Oh yes, it won't be 'wet' outside so make sure you don't show up in just hip waders and an umbrella. Have to shovel a path to the bar b to throw on some shrimp!!

Seriously, Fall is a lovely time of the year when we do get the blessing of those lovely colors. You must have the same down under??

Mate, sweet as bro, ya know the lingo, except that in NZ we crack a tube and then throw a steak on the barbie.

Yes, we do get a nice autumn down here, but no snow in the winter though where I am in Auckland.

We(the Mrs and I) went to the west slope for hay a week ago and headed through Glenwood canyon I was able to take a few pics while heading into Vail. We mostly get yellow with our aspens, but the scrub oak do add some red.
I apologize for the quality, but its a phone in a moving semi.

No, not the same. There is a great rivalry between NZ and Oz, particularly with sports.

Did NOT know that. But it's obvious to us that you're one of the good sports.

Right then, In this corner we gots a wallabee that will make mojo juice from yer mellon, and in this corner we have a great white that will cut you down to size and spit out the lawyer pieces....

Have never been to Oz or NZ. I guess I'm one of the crazy blokes who doesn't like crocs or any of the worlds 10 deadliest snakes you fellas have down there. Bugger!

It is usually pretty good natured banter between us. NZ (All Blacks) are playing Oz (Wallabies) on Saturday night in the semi final of the World Rugby cup.

We don't have any snakes or crocs in NZ, it is a very safe country as far as wild animals go.

BTW the All Blacks will win on Saturday.

Well now, that makes me feel better. I'll be right down. Catching the 0239 redeye. You'll recognize me at the landing gate, I'll still have red eyes!

One of these days I would like my Mrs and me to visit your fair land. Just gotta get the hang of rugby - our football is completely different than yours. From what I've seen though, your version has more options and excitement. Cheers mate!

These pictures make me kinda jealous... There are no seasons here in California. They must have either made them illegal or taxed them out

^^^ Funny!

Well, the colors have a real short lifespan here. Only 2 weeks difference and there isn't much left.
This was taken almost the same area as the last pic in my first post. Here comes the snow

These are all nice shots. But...... they are all missing something.....

Here in the Halifax, Nova Scotia the colours just really started to pop about 2 weeks ago. They are all pretty bright now. The picture was taken on Wed Oct 13 around 9:15am.

Wind and rain are forecasted all week. I think a lot of them will be bare this time next week.

Some fall colors and some old cars. Taken near Port Jervis, NY aka Hawks nest.

Also can someone please tell me how to include full size pics in a post rather than thumbnails.
Thanks, Rob

Well, as CQR says you can do it with any free web hosting like photobucket. I also use them - it's free. the disadvantage is that once a link to the web host is broken, your pic disappears off this site too and will show up as one of those red X's.

Although CO limits pics to 5 / post you can display full size by clicking the embedded thumbnail. It will come up as a full size pic. right clik your mouse and select copy. Then exit the picture and paste it into your thread

Nice car pics and scenery BTW, and with a larger pic it's easier to see first time around.
