I am on an Oil Rig due east & a little north of Mile Zero of the Alaska Highway (near the Alberta/BC border) & it is 42 degrees F here right now. Perfect winter day in Northern Canada.

Yup, Edmonton is sitting right around 7°C, or 44.6°F. Going to get even warmer by the end of the day. Sat is supposed to be a copy/paste. Sunday is supposed to get colder again.

Probably no snow left down in Cochrane with the temps they've been having. When's breakup for you?

Much of Alaska's population lives near the coast where temps stay warmer. Glasgow is quite a bit further north than Montreal, but seldom sees temps anywhere near the warms or colds we get inland.

Geez Louise.... maybe we need to coin some kind of catch phrase for the left coasters...

I had 18* at 730am before I left to work and DFW airport reported 16 - Alaska seems cozy compared to that.

Rob, its 70 degrees here in Medford right now, yesterdays high was 67. Although it was single digits earlier in the winter.

On the other hand Brookings was up to 82 a week or two ago. Its not uncommon for the Southern Oregon coast to see 70's in the winter time. You just gotta figure out how to move out here sooner than retirement

Well, I was texting the family on the Louisiana Gulf Coast today and they had torrential rain and mid 30s (how wonderful that must be ), then it dropped to 27º and everything froze up - there was a 1" layer of ice everywhere and bridges and roads were shut down. My two nieces were stuck - one at home and couldn't get to work and one at work and couldn't get home. Multiple fatality collisions on the highways.

Prolly just another day for you northern folks, other than it being 100% humidity and 30-something degrees. If you've never experienced cold + humidity you don't know what you're missing.

I'll be out in the ice shanty on the lake tomorrow if anyone needs me. Supposed to have a heat wave tommorow 26 with a real feel of 8. 28mph winds have a solid 8" of ice now out there, sure it will be 10 by the mornin'. God I need a heated garage and better winter activities!!! -2 for Tuesday's forcast Yay
