Kenneth, you forgot the incorrect deck wing too.
You sure the car isn't white with an orange wrap?
Lots (and I mean LOTS) of A body Cutli that now sport a W25 hood and 442 grills. More than ever left the factory. But one thing I'll give credit to on this one - it doesn't have body side moldings nor rocker panel stainless.

The owner's car, the owner's choice. Having a date coded hose clamp placed at exactly the right angle, for example, is not a choice of everyone putting together a car. Kudos to the owner, it is an Oldsmobile.

There's a tremendous difference between a detail that will get you the 1000th point at the OCA nationals, and something that is not only incorrect, but is artistically ignorant as well. The 68 W-36 stripe ends at a chrome molding, which the 69-72 lack, and they don't go 1/3rd of the way onto the hood, either. It just doesn't fit.

Beauty has and always be in the eye of the beholder. Beauty is subjective. Artist Picasso and Dali may not be your cup of tea. If you don't like it, don't look at it. Same with women. At one time beauty women was heavy, even fat. Not me, but I seen many guy just go crazy for a big girl. Just saying.

So now this car is the big girl? Ha ha.
One of my biggest pet peeves on muscle cars is lame stripes that were never factory.
It was said already to each his own. Everyone has their way. Looks like plenty of love into this car. Tripped on the finish line but... I can't tell if the side stripes go across the hood. If they meet up with the hood stripes. Sure would have looked so much better without in my opinion. Just an opinion.

I don't mind a true custom. I don't even mind tasteful modifications on a stock theme. This is not either; it's a basic violation of aesthetic principle (which is "make the lines line up.")
Here's an example of another bad one. Yes, it was done well, however it's like that line from King of the Hill about Christian Rock..."you're not making Christianity any better; you're just making rock n roll worse."

You don't get to restore a car to stock looking, then do something totally wrong from a different year that's tasteless and jarring, then expect a pass. I pointed out in the post right above yours why this particular thing is artistically faulted on this car.

A self proclaimed authority on all three are you?

You don't need to be an authority to recognize that a paint stripe accent that is anchored to a body line with a molding isn't appropriate on a later car when that body line is gone. Artistic taste is hated by those without it.
