Did the 1970 442 convertibles come with the big block curved front fender braces? This is a numbers matching car that I have owned many years. When I painted the car in 1989. I replaced the rotted original (flat lip) front fenders, but there were apparently no braces on them. I just raised the body off the frame to detail it, and this question came to mind. I also own a 1970 442 hardtop which has the braces. Is it possible that the stronger convertible frames did not require the braces? The convertible has an automatic trans and AC.
