Greasing 1968 olds 442 hood hinges and springs?

What is the grease to use on 1968 olds 442 hood hinges and springs?

I use a drop of 3in1 oil. Don't over lube them because the hood may not stay up.

ah 3in 1 oil got it. I was thinking heavier grease type of lube. Cool thanks

The springs are sized to hold the hood open even if there is zero friction in the pivots.

As for lube, I use lithium grease in a spray can. This can get messy, so you want to use the small "straw" that comes with the can.

Oil is good for getting into places where grease will not penetrate. Use oil to get into the large rivet like hinge points and white grease when you can get it directly on the point of friction/slide.

Remember though, oil moves and grease does not. Lots of my gun stocks get oil tracks from the wipe down oil moving over time.

I always use engine oil in a can. Look at the 70's Chevy trucks the hood will bend at the hinge if not oiled.
