Smile 70 cutlass convertible front spring and control arms

Hello everyone. I have a few questions. I just pulled the motor and transmission out of my 1970 cutlass supreme convertible with the 350 and AC. I am looking at replacing the front springs and control arm bushings. I get a lot of squeak when I am driving or pushing down on the front end. First question is what moog spring do I use for the front end. I have been trying to find info on which spring is correct. I think the 5536 is the right one but not sure. 2nd question is it better to just put new upper and lower control arms on instead of trying to replacing bushings? 3rd is has anyone used parts from this company?
https://www.autobodyspecialt.com/cgi...&category=0086 The prices on control arms don't seem to be that bad in price. Thank you for any help I can get.

Welcome to the site, post a proper intro in the Newbie section. We do like pictures.

For what you'll pay for 1 lower control arm new, you can do both sides replacing all the bushings and ball joints on your originals. I used Rockauto.com pricing for all Moog parts.

You'll get a few different ideas on spring part numbers.

I have never bought parts from your link.

I've used Autobody Specialties for patch panels. I suspect these new production control arms are Chinesium. As above, I'd rebuild the stock arms with Moog parts.

I agree with the above. I replaced all the front end parts on my car with Moog bought at the local parts store, but Rock Auto many times has much lower prices for the same parts.

I replaced the factory front springs on my car with Moog 5536 springs. The car sits the same height as it did with the worn 40+ year original springs. They are much stiffer so handling is a lot better but they are not so stiff as to make the ride harsh - it still feels very smooth, just firmer.

Here are side shots of my car from the Wheel and Tire size database sticky post:

Don't forget the rockauto discount code in the general section.
