If I change my center link to a 7/8", do I have to change my pitman arm? I see it takes a different idler arm.

I think the pin/bolts/studs/holes are a larger diameter on the tie rods/pitman arm & idler arm.

Yes. The functional difference is the diameter of the tapered studs, which is different at both ends, thus the need for BOTH idler and pitman arms to match the center link. The 7/8" center link uses idler arm P/N 5693764 with power steering and 5693762 with manual steering. These are different than those used with the 13/16" center link (5679209).

My experience is 64 to some point in 65 used the smaller diameter center link with the smaller studs. At some point in 65 they switched to the larger diameter center link with the larger studs and this larger center link carried over to 66 & 67. FWIW the Chevy used the smaller diameter center link 64-67. I found this out the hard way.

The factory parts book indicates that both 7/8" and 13/16" were used on both 1964 and 65 vehicles.
