I'm interested in any answers you may get. Before changing the bar, are you sure the links and bushings are tight? On my 63 all that was replaced with the stock bar plus the addition of heavy duty springs and shocks all around and I thought cornering was quite good. I then added wider wheels with 50 series rubber plus a good alignment and cornering became very good although ride quality suffered.

I'll add that polyurethane sway bar bushings and end links will increase the effective stiffness of the bar, as some of the stiffness is lost compressing the stock rubber.

Wow! SS wheels look amazing. I forgot they ran the 5x5 up through 96 on those and never suspected a new low offset wheel would look good on these old sleds. If memory serves me they were 17's? And do they rub?. Im running a 235/75/15 so that more than likely my issue. Im gonna try airbags inside the rear coils first. Ill report back.

I added a rear sway bar to my 61 88. I used a rear sway bar from a 68-72 A-body GM and some simple angle iron brackets bolted to the factory two piece lower control arms. There are some more pictures on my build thread. That along with Urethane front bushings, larger sway bar link bolts and new gas shocks all around i feel like Tiny Lund going around corners. It handles really good, it made a huge difference. My wife asked for a grab bar on the dash lol.

I don't know for sure about '64's , but in '63's the Ninety Eight sway bar was larger.
My '63 parts book lists the 98 sway bar as the same number as a Police 88 sway bar .
That's what I'm using in my '63 Dynamic . It is about 1/8 in. larger in diameter .

The wheels are 17" by 9" wide with 255-50-17 Z rated tires, surprisingly they fit perfectly with no rubbing, almost like the factory designed it.
