71-72 Post Coupe

Hey guys.

You guys all seem to be much more knowledgeable on specifics than I when it comes to Oldsmobile related issues.
Recently I've been stalking a 71 2 door post across eBay and craigslist. The seller is a complete d-bag with zero people skills, he is the one with the items so I guess he is semi entitled to?
Long story short.
He has posted and re posted the same vehicle MANY times on craigslist with varying prices. He has also changed his description several times on eBay; ranging from "will only take 12900" to "9787 OBO".
The car overall looks great. Its 45 years old so usual spots are starting to show.
I even outright offered 7500 without even looking at the car in person and Mr people skills countered with 10250...while it was currently on eBay for 9787 OBO.

What would the value be?

*Edit*

Here is a link to the ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/282119094843

Since this fellow has listed and re listed it several times its somewhat throwing up a red flag for me. Hes anxious to dump it off, sooner the better.
He also says that if it doesn't sell this time hes going to repaint it and sell it for 18000. Again, "bullying" someone into quick picking it up.
The protect o plate has matching VIN on it and on the vehicle, notice how its not shown in the manual/owner documentation stuff?
Somewhere on here you guys have made mention of "story cars" and how if there is some type of story attached to it, its probably not real.

It boils down to this. While I dont mind messing around with an engine/wiring/brakes to get a car street worthy, not much of a body man. Would need the body to be overall OK; which this car looks like.

You'll need to give us more details before we could help. Can you put a link to the ebay sale in your thread? Does it have lots of pictures and a good description of the car?

Check out his feedback. He's sold a bunch of Oldsmobile cars in the last few years. Some people were happy, some not. If your really into the car make the trip to see it in person as RetroRanger suggested. The auction has 38 watchers but no bidders. For me that says a lot of people are interested but nobodies willing to pay the opening bid.

Look at the bottom of the front drivers fender closely. I had a 1972 Cutlass that appeared to have perfect front fenders, but that rocker trim was hiding rot at the bottom of each fender. The picture shows something, may just be dirt, but check it out to make sure.

If you get the car let us know how it turns out!
