Naturally you are under no obligation to explain a personal preference but with your limited budget a 72 might present the bargain you are looking for. Good luck in your search.

72 is just harder to prove to be a real 442 you know that

Easy to prove with proper documentation. We all know that.
Again good luck with your search.

I have a really nice cloned 442 (cutlass supreme with all the options) convertible for sale - price is $25,000 firm
Never seen a nice daily driver for $15,000 (like a unicorn), Most cars in the $15000 range are rust buckets are cars that need a lot of work.

Not sure I got to go back and check it out when I get home. I think you did this to me last time when I was posting a wanted ad and you got confused and thought I was talking about selling you a car but I think you’re mistaken again.
what condition and price are you asking for your car if you selling it for over a year and a half you’re probably asking too much.

I have a '72 I was thinking of getting rid of. Its an unfinished project, not running. It was a Bamboo and Saddle car but its Pewter now.
It's a genuine U code 455 automatic car. The original drivetrain is gone. It has a not numbers '72 455 under the hood with a different Turbo 400, rebuilt.
It has power brakes, power steering and air but the car has no interior and nothing is hooked up. It has Jet Hot coated headers but I also have W and Z manifolds.
I have a Performer intake on it but I also have a cast '72 intake. The 455 has ported C heads on it but the Ga heads come with it.
It wasn't a OAI car but I do have the dual snorkel air cleaner. It has repro red inner fenderwells. I have Sport Wheel, Buckets, Console, Dual Gate.
The tires are 20 years old. Never driven on. The wheels are '75-'77 SS IIIs. 15". It'll come with a 2.56 posi rear out of a Pontiac. New posi unit.
Its painted with the black stripes like in your avatar. I have a tilt floor shift column for it but it'll probably need looking over. Rebuilt steering box.
I was thinking around $7500 since it needs so much work but the paint and body are real good. It has original rear quarters. Floors replaced. Frame is a '68 Cutlass convertible frame.
front fenders are '70 (no wrinkes)
