1968 Vista Cruiser

Anybody want a Vista Cruiser? It is located near Louisville Kentucky right now. I am working on moving it to Alabama in the near future. It is my car. I own it.

This is what I know now:
Complete running/driving car
Original spare and jack in the back
Rocket 350 / Automatic / 12 bolt rear end

I'll get more info this weekend

What are these things worth?

Thanks

Tom

Tom - I might be interested after you get it to Alabama and if the price is right. I'm in west Georgia.

There is/was a nice driver on ebay. Price depends on condition. I have a 68 vista that came with a parts deal but if I put the BBO in it and an interior and had it running/driving I'd ask $3000 or so. If the paint was shiny and interior nice it'd be double that. It's a new mexico car so it's solid enough to build. Yours looks good in the one pic. Good luck with it.

It has new seat covers and door panels. And I know, I really need to get some pictures. I am having my sister take some good pics of it this weekend. For now, my dad says it's a good car. Some rust in the front floors, a repaint sometime in the past, and snow tires. But it's still a really nice car. If possible, I'll get someone smart (paint and body wise) over to look at the car so we can see what other issues may be lurking under that repaint.
The old thing might end up in Alabama before Christmas, which is good for me, but bad for any potential buyer from up north. That's why I am posting the ad so quickly.

Thanks

Some things to look for in a Vista. Check the top 3 glass pieces for cracks, delamination(bubbles around the edge of the glass), & rust in the channels around those glass pieces. Also look for rust in the bottom of the spare tire well, the bottom of the tail gate, rear wheel well rust/repair, missing/damaged vista trim. It seems the '70-'72 Vistas are a bit more popular than the earlier ones, but if it's nice, it will still bring good money.

I'd like to see more pics of it also. Does it have the 3rd row seat in it?

I am just about 2 miles off 65 in White House, TN. You can just drop it off on your way to Alabama at my house since it's on the way!

That is exactly why I haven't moved it yet. I am hoping to make it easier on the next owner.

I am also working with my sister to get some good pictures of the interior, and it's taking some work. I guess it's cold outside in Indiana, LOL. Please be patient as I work through this issue. Hopefully I'll have them by this weekend.

I am not looking at asking too much. $4500.00, ???, but I am open to offers and discussions. I'd keep it if I could sell my 1975 Cutlass. I think these Vista Cruisers are really cool. And this one would make an excellent tow vehicle. But I also realize others may not like them as much as I do.

The front floors need replaced. The rear door is damaged. The seats need new foam, but I have the seat covers. I also have replacement (used) door panels for the car. I will give it two weeks up north before bringing it down here, afterwhich, I may part it out. It has good glass, good trim work, and it is supposed to have a posi rear end in it. As I get more info on it I will post it. I am trying to confirm the posi and the engine (original or not) right now. This distance thing is causing some issues. But when I get it down here I will be better able to disect it and decode it.

I am open to offers.

Well I wouldn't be able to do anything till after the holidays for sure. It looks like it needs more work than what I was originally thinking. Does it have the 3rd seat?

I posted the car for sale in the Louisville Ky Craigslist. I am asking $3950.00 for it in the ad, but I am willing to go much lower. $3500.00

It still has the original drive train and a Posi trak rear end. After I get the car moved down here, where I live, I will be pulling the rear end and parting out the car.

Please, someone needs to save this car.
